Christmas Fruit Pies image

These are absolutely the best pies I guess I've ever tasted except a chocolate and coconut. I used to make these every Christmas and my aunt and uncle loved them so much I always made 1 for everyone and my uncle loved it so much, I would make him one to eat all by himself.

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 can(s) pie cherries (not drained), dark, sweet and pitted
1 can(s) crushed pineapple (small, not drained)
1 1/4 cup(s) sugar
1/4 cup(s) flour
1/2 cup(s) chopped pecans
6 - bananas
1 package(s) orange jello (small)
- red food coloring drops
1 pint(s) real whipping cream
2 - 9" - 10" pie crusts, baked

Steps:

  • In a medium sauce pan, mix together, cherries, crushed pineapple, sugar, flour & food coloring----cook until thick----let cool. Add 1 box orange jello, cut-up bananas & pecans. Let all of this cool. I set it in the fridge to cool.
  • Pour into baked pie crusts and top each pie with whipping cream. Keep in fridge.
  • I use real whipping cream...pour it into a bowl and beat with electric mixer until thick...add a little sugar and taste and see if it's sweet enough.
