Chili Sauce Grilled Chicken image

Inexpensive chicken thighs are marinated 2 hours resulting in tender, juicy chicken that is big on flavor. If you don't cook with wine substitute chicken broth and if using dried herbs use half the amount or to taste.

12 ounces chili sauce (store bought)
1/3 cup white wine or 1/3 cup chicken broth
1/4 cup olive oil
10 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
8 chicken thighs

Steps:

  • Combine chili sauce, wine or broth, olive oil, garlic, basil salt and pepper. Add chicken and marinate about 2 hours in the refrigerator.
  • Drain chicken and discard marinade. Grill, skin side down (covered) over medium heat about 20 minutes. Turn an grill an additional 10 minutes until chicken is done.
  • Can also be cooked indoors on a grill pan or broiled.
