Chicken Pot Pie image

I was very ill and on life support in February 2012, when I came home many friends stopped by with meals for my family and I for weeks! And I especially loved this one recipe, but I tweeked it to make it my own.

Number Of Ingredients 11

3 c chicken breasts diced into medium squares & cooked or 3 cans.
1 1/2 small bags frozen mixed vegetables
1 1/2 stick butter melted
3/4 c all purpose flour
1/4 c minced onion
1 c heavy cream
1 can(s) chicken broth
FIRST SET OF INGREDIENTS IS FOR THE PIE, SECOND SET INGREDIENTS FOR THE TOPPING
1 c bisquick
1 stick butter melted
1 c milk

Steps:

  • 1. Set oven to 400 degrees. Mix together: flour,1 1/2 stks melted butter, minced onion, chicken broth, and heavy cream until smooth.
  • 2. Stir in cooked chicken and mixed vegetables, pour into a 9 x 13 inch baking pan and set aside.
  • 3. Now mix together: bisquick, milk, and 1 stick melted butter.
  • 4. Pour bisquick mixture over the top of the chicken mixture. (DO NOT STIR) Bake in oven 45 minutes, serve hot.
