I know that there are several recipes for these, but this is my absolute favorite. I think the balsamic vinegar gives it just the perfect touch. I like to cook my onions a little longer than stated here, but this recipe works well for making a large batch to freeze. Then I can cook them down more after thawing to top a steak,...

Number Of Ingredients 7

4 c sweet onion, sliced
2 Tbsp olive oil
1 Tbsp brown sugar
2 Tbsp basamic vinegar
1 Tbsp lemon juice
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper

Steps:

  • 1. Cook onion in hot olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat, stirring often, 10 to 12 minutes or until golden.
  • 2. Sprinkle with sugar, and cook 2 minutes.
  • 3. Add vinegar and next 3 ingredients, and cook 2 minutes.
  • 4. Serve warm or cold.
