Canadian Butter Tarts image

Butter tarts are a Canadian tradition. They are rich, sweet and gooey. This recipe includes raisins but some include walnuts or neither. Number Of Ingredients 8

24 tart shells
1/2 c corn syrup
1/2 c melted butter
1 c brown sugar
2 eggs ( lightly beaten )
1 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp vanilla
3/4 c raisins

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 375°
  • 2. Put tart shells on a rimmed cookie sheet and place some raisins(6-8) in each shell.
  • 3. Mix the rest of the ingredients together. Fill each tart shell half way (a generous tablespoon)with mixture.
  • 4. Bake 15 minutes. Watch that they don't overflow or burn.
