Cabbage Au Gratin Recipe image

Number Of Ingredients 10

1/2 large cabbage, chopped
3/4 cup grated cheddar cheese
paprika & salt to taste
1/2 cup cracker crumbs
3 tbs. melted butter
Medium White Sauce
4 tbs. butter
4 tbs. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 cups milk

Steps:

  • WHITE SAUCE: Melt butter; stir in flour, salt & pepper. Whisk in milk, cook & whisk over medium heat until thickened & bubbly. Cook & stir 1-2 more minutes. Makes 2 cups. Layer part of cabbage in buttered dish; sprinkle with part of cheese, paprika & salt. Cover with white sauce. Repeat until cabbage, cheese & sauce are used up. Melt 3 tbs. butter & mix with cracker crumbs. Top cabbage mix with crumbs. Bake at 350 until bubbly & browned.,
