This is a nice concoction to attract butterflies to your flower gardens and ponds.

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 can(s) beer
2 pound(s) dark, brown sugar
2 cup(s) molasses or syrup
2 pound(s) very well ripened fruit (bananas, peaches, grapes, etc.)

Steps:

  • Mix all together and place in the sun and allow to ferment for a day. (The plastic bucket from a gallon of ice cream works great.) Use a loose fitting lid on the container to allow gases to escape during the fermentation process.
  • After fermenting, store in a shady area. STORE IT AWAY FROM CHILDREN.
  • Dab on fence posts, rocks, old tree trunks, etc.. (An old paint brush will work nicely.) Do this every couple of days dabbing on the same places. Results will get better as time goes on.
  • Well placed rocks in a flower garden will make it easier for the butterflies to find and you'll know where to look for them.
