BURGUNDIAN BEEF BURGERS WITH BRIE image

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 tsp olive oil
4 slices bacon, finelychopped
¼ cup finely chopped shallots
2 cups finely chopped mushrooms
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 egg, beaten
Salt and freshly ground pepper
1 lb (500g) ground beef
4 oz (125 g) Brie
4 hamburger buns

Steps:

  • HEAT oil in a skillet over medium heat and sauté bacon until just cooked but not crispy, about 5 minutes. ADD shallots and cook until translucent, about 2 minutes. Add mushrooms and cook until water evaperates, about 2 minutes. Transfer to a large bowl and let cool. ADD Worcestershire, egg, salt and pepper to mushroom mixture. Add beef and use your hands or a spatula to incorperate gently without overmixing. SHAPE meat mixture into 8 patties about ½ inch thick. CUT Brie into 4 slices. Sandwich a piece of Brie between two patties, encasing cheese to prevent any leakage. You should now have 4 patties about 1 inch thick. PREHEAT grill on high. Grill patties with lid closed for 4 minutes per side, or until patties are cooked to taste. Serve on Buns.
