Yield 16 2-1/4x2-1/4 or 20

Number Of Ingredients 8

4 oz unsweetened chocolate
8 T butter (1 stick)
2 C sugar
2 tsp vanilla
4 large eggs
1 C flour
1 C chopped walnuts or pecans
(optional: 1 C choc chips)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 - center rack. 13x9 pan w/greased alum foil overhanging edge by 2". In large saucepan over low heat, melt chocolate and butter stirring const 'til smooth. Set aside to cool completely. Stir in sugar and vanilla. Stir in eggs until well combined. Stir in flour and nuts until just well-combined. Scrape batter into pan and spread. Bake until center almost firm when touched and toothpick inserted comes clean but still moist on bottom...23-28 mins. Remove pan to rack and let stand until cool. Lift w/tin foil to cutting board and cut.
