BLUE CHEESE SPREAD image

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 8-oz package cream cheese at room temperature
4 oz good quality blue cheese
1/4 cup chopped pecans
3 Tablespoons whipping cream
1/2 Teaspoon freshly ground pepper
1/2 Teaspoon salt
1 Baguette
1 pear

Steps:

  • 1. Prehead oven to 350. Slice baguette and brush with olive oil. Bake slices for 10 - 15 minutes until just lighly toasted. (Can be made ahead of time and stored in plastic bag). 2. In bowl with mixer, whip cream cheese until it becomes creamy (about 2 minutes). 3. Add whipping cream and continue to beat 1 minute. 4. Add blue cheese, salt, and pepper and beat until most of the larger blue cheese chunks are smoothed out. 5. Mix in pecans with spoon. 6. Spread Blue Cheese Spread in 2 - 3 ramkins. Spread can be made ahead of time and allowed to come to room temperature 2 hours before serving. 7. Serve blue cheese spread with baguette slices and slices of pear.
