Basic Cheese Sauce image

3 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons flour
1 cup milk
1 cup grated cheese (the milder, the better, try cheddar, mozzarella)

Steps:

  • Melt butter in saucepan.
  • Stir in flour until blended.
  • Stir in milk slowly.
  • When the sauce has thickened, reduce heat and stir in cheese.
  • Wonderful on steamed broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus or any veggie you want your child to try.
