Banana Bars image

These bars are very good, reminds me of Banana bread, but lighter. I got the recipe from Nestle's best loved cookies. My daughter made a batch yesterday and said should I freeze some? Won't be any left to freeze ~~ HaHa My own picture.

Number Of Ingredients 11

2 c all purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 c (1 1/2 sticks) butter or margarine,softened
2/3 c granulated sugar
2/3 c granulated brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 c (2 bananas) mashed ripe banana
1 egg
2 c (12 oz pkg.) choc.chips mini morsels (semi-sweet)
sifted powdered sugar

Steps:

  • 1. Combine flour, baking powder and salt in medium bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla in large mixer bowl until creamy. Beat in bananas and egg. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in morsels. Spread into greased 15" x 10" jelly-roll pan.
  • 2. Bake in preheated 350degree oven for 20 to 30 minutes or until wooden toothpick comes out clean. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Cut into bars. (I cooked in a 13 x 9 inch pan) cook a little longer, maybe five minutes or so.
