Asian Turkey Burgers image

Add something hearty to your family's Asian cuisine night! Serve these broiled turkey burgers made using whole wheat hamburger buns and veggies - ready in just 25 minutes.

1 lb lean ground turkey
1/4 cup finely chopped water chestnuts
4 medium green onions, sliced (1/4 cup)
2 tablespoons teriyaki marinade and sauce (from 10-oz bottle)
1/8 teaspoon pepper
4 whole wheat hamburger buns
8 slices cucumber or 4 thin slices red bell pepper
4 leaves leaf lettuce

Steps:

  • Set oven control to broil. In medium bowl, mix turkey, water chestnuts, onions, teriyaki sauce and pepper. Shape mixture into 4 patties, each about 1/2 inch thick. Place on rack in broiler pan.
  • Broil patties with tops about 6 inches from heat 4 minutes. Turn patties; cook 6 to 8 minutes longer or until meat thermometer inserted in center of patties reads 165°F.
  • Place patties in buns with cucumber slices and lettuce leaves.
