Apple Brown Betty image

I love apples and cinnamon. Good American goodness. This is an easy recipe that will appeal to your family and guests...So yummy. You can also substitute pears or peaches for the apples...Hope you e njoy this recipe

Number Of Ingredients 9

10 baking apples, pared, cored and sliced
2 tsp cinnamon
1 1/4 c flour
3/4 c brown sugar
1 stick butter, no substitues
SYRUP
2/3 c brown sugar
1/4 c hot water
1/2 lemon, juiced

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • 2. Arrange slices in the bottom of a 9X12 inch baking pan
  • 3. Sprinkle with cinnamon
  • 4. Mix flour and brown sugar together. Cut in butter until crumbly and set aside
  • 5. SYRUP: Combine the ingredients for syrup and stir until well blended.
  • 6. Drizzle half of the syrup over the apples.
  • 7. Top with butter crumb mixture and pour the remaining syrup on top.
  • 8. Bake at 350 degrees for one hour.
