Amish Roasted Pork with orange sauce image

I am from a long line of Amish Ancestery, and our ways of cooking are alot different then the ways most cooks cook. I hope you enjoy these as much as I have.

Number Of Ingredients 14

1 cup(s) sugar
2 tablespoon(s) cornstarch
1 tablespoon(s) flour
2 teaspoon(s) orange rine
1 1/2 cup(s) orange juice, fresh
1/2 cup(s) water
1/3 cup(s) lemon juice
1 tablespoon(s) soy sauce
2 tablespoon(s) horseradish mustard
5 pound(s) boneless pork roast
1 1/4 teaspoon(s) thyme
1 1/4 teaspoon(s) ground ginger
1 1/4 teaspoon(s) salt
1 1/4 teaspoon(s) pepper

Steps:

  • in a sauce pan combine sugar cornstarch flour and orange rine and whisk til flour is disolved
  • add orange juice water lemon juice soy sauce horseradish mustard whisk til combined 3 to 5 minutes
  • place the roast into shallow baking pan and tie the roast so it don't fall apart, NO web stockings in a small bowl combine equal parts of thyme, ground ginger, salt and pepper and rub on top and sides of roast. then pour sauce mixture over the roast and bake at 325 for 3 hours
