Number Of Ingredients 16

COOKIES
2 c shortening
2 c sugar
2 c cream
2 eggs
6-6.5 c flour
tsp vanilla
3/4 tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp baking soda
FROSTING
1 pkg. powdered sugar
1 egg
1 can condensed milk (for spreading)
1 tsp shortening
1 tsp butter

Steps:

  • COOKIES beat together shortening and sugar until fluffy. beat in eggs until combined. blend in cream and vanilla slowly. sift in dry ingredients, fold until smooth. if sticky, add more flour. drop and flatten onto baking sheet, bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes FROSTING melt butter and shortening in a double boiler. beat egg and then add hot mixture to egg until warm. return everything to double boiler. stir in powdered sugar and then add condensed milk until frosting is spreadable but firm. Cookies need a LOT of frosting.
