All American Beef Stew image

Great recipe for snowy days in the winter. Lots of flavor!

Number Of Ingredients 21

2 pound(s) beef stew meat, large dice
2 pound(s) red potatoes, large dice
1 medium bell pepper, large dice
1 medium yellow onion, small dice
1 medium jalapeno pepper, finely diced
5 medium carrots, large dice
2 stalk(s) celery, large dice
1 (14oz.) can(s) green beans
1 tablespoon(s) garlic, minced
1 tablespoon(s) cumin
3 cup(s) beef bouillon
1/2 teaspoon(s) powdered cayenne pepper
2 teaspoon(s) salt
1 teaspoon(s) black pepper
1 teaspoon(s) powdered or granuled garlic
1/2 teaspoon(s) cajun seasoning
1/2 tablespoon(s) worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon(s) dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon(s) paprika
1 tablespoon(s) butter
4 cup(s) water

Steps:

  • In a large stew pot, add butter and allow to melt on me./low heat. Next, add the stew meat, cajun seasoning, and 1 teas. salt. Allow stew meat to brown, stirring occasionally. (12 to 15 minutes)
  • Next, add worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, powdered or granuled garlic, oregano, and paprika. Stir together well.
  • Next, starting with the beef bouillon and water, add everything else, except the carrots and green beans.
  • Add top to stew pot and allow to simmer for 35 - 40 minutes, stirring occasionally. Next, add the carrots and green beans, stir, add lid back to stew pot, allow to simmer 20 more minutes. Salt and pepper to taste.
