6 slices bread, buttered (white or whole wheat)
parmesan cheese
parsley

Steps:

  • butter bread (white, whole wheat, rye)or buns.
  • sprinkle with amount of parmesan cheese you wish to have covering bread.
  • add parsley.
  • Bake (toast) in 350 degree oven til toasted to your liking!
  • Cooking time is just an estimate -- choose your own liking.

1 cup mayonnaise
1 cup parmesan cheese, grated
1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
1 tablespoon 2% low-fat milk
1 teaspoon italian seasoning
1 loaf Italian bread, sliced thick and lightly toasted

Steps:

  • Preheat broiler. Mix all ingredients except toast; Spread on toast.
  • Place on baking sheets lined with parchment paper. Broil 4" from source of heat 2-3 minutes or until golden and bubbly.

I love making this toast to have with soup or 1 pot meals! It's the only recipe I actually use that packaged dried parmesan instead of the fresh stuff. You don't get good results with fresh parmesan in this recipe.

3 tablespoons butter
4 tablespoons parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat your grill to medium.
  • Lightly spread butter on 1 side of each slice of bread.
  • Sprinkle with parmesan.

  • Serve hot.

1/2 pound day-old country-style bread, sliced 1/4-inch thick
Extra-virgin olive oil
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 300 degrees F.
  • Brush one side of each bread slice with olive oil and place them on a baking sheet in one layer. Season them with salt and pepper and dust them with the Parmesan. Bake until golden brown and crisp, about 15 minutes. Serve warm or at room temperature.

1 (24 -26 ounce) jar marinara sauce
1 (19 ounce) can cannellini beans, rinsed
1 (7 ounce) jar roasted red peppers
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1 garlic clove
1 3/4 cups chicken broth
1/4 cup fresh basil (thin strips)
fresh ground pepper, to taste
12 slices French bread
12 teaspoons grated parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Put sauce, beans, peppers, oil and garlic in a blender or food processor; process until smooth.
  • Pour into medium saucepan along with the broth.
  • Stirring often, bring to a simmer over medium-high heat.
  • Remove from heat; stir in basil.
  • Spoon into bowls; grind pepper on top.
  • For Parmesan toasts, heat broiler.
  • Line a baking sheet with foil.
  • Place 12 thin slices bread on foil; sprinkle each slice with 1 t grated Parmesan cheese.
  • Broil 2-3 minutes until lightly toasted.

Quick Parmesan Toasts image

This is the easiest, tastiest and quickest appetizer you'll ever make and everybody loves it. I've been making these for at 30 years and they're always a hit at any event I take them too. Did I say FAST, too? Great for a Holiday weekend.

1 c mayonnaise
1 c parmesan cheese, grated
2 scallions, green tops only
1 baguette

Steps:

  • 1. Slice the baguette into thin circles. Spread melted butter (or olive oil) on one side of each slice and toast in a 350 degree oven until golden brown.
  • 2. While the bread is toasting. Combine the Parmesan, mayonnaise and scallion tops.
  • 3. Spread mayo mixture on the toast rounds.
  • 4. Pop back into the oven for 10-15 minutes until brown and bubbly.
  • 5. Enjoy!
