Here's a recipe I got when I went to Hawaii - tri-tip steak is one of the newer cuts of beef, and is pretty tender.

2 1/2 lbs tri-tip steak (or other tender steak)
1/2 cup sea salt
1 tablespoon crushed garlic
1/2 tablespoon cracked peppercorn
1 tablespoon sugar

Steps:

  • Combine spices and rub into meat.
  • Let sit for 30 minutes.
  • Broil or grill the steaks, turning every 4 minutes.
