PEPPERONI PIZZA MONKEY BREAD RECIPE BY TASTY

Pepperoni Pizza Monkey Bread Recipe by Tasty image

Despite this party appetizer's name, cheesy pull-apart goodness is no monkey business. Flaky biscuit dough, marinara sauce, cheese, and pepperoni are baked together in a bundt pan, then you dig right in, with more marinara sauce for dipping. Make this indulgent recipe your own by replacing the pepperoni with your favorite pizza toppings.

From Sweet & Simple Living website, your kids will love this savory twist on Monkey Bread. Made in a Bundt pan (half the recipe), it is a beautiful appetizer served with warmed pizza sauce in the center in a ramekin. I usually make half of the recipe to serve 4 with some leftovers as a main dish with a side salad.

EASY PIZZA MONKEY BREAD, MAIN DISH OR APPETIZER

Easy Pizza Monkey Bread, Main Dish or Appetizer image

This can be made with canned biscuits as a crust which makes it quicker but not nearly as good. This recipe came from a local newspaper several years ago. I like to use it for an appetizer or snack. It makes a lot so its good for parties, potlucks, or family gatherings. Don't use too many topping ingredients or dough will get soggy. Choose your favorite 2 or 3 for best results. Also rising time for yeast dough is not included in prep time or baking time. Rising adds an hour to this recipe. Everyone likes this, especially those young in body or mind. :)

Categories     Other Appetizers

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 jar(s) pizza sauce (can substitute with spaghetti sauce)
1 pound(s) italian sausage
1/2 - onion, diced
1/2 - bell pepper
1 tablespoon(s) garlic, minced
2 cup(s) mozzerella, grated
2 tablespoon(s) italian seasoning
2 package(s) canned biscuits

Steps:

  • Sautee onion and bell pepper for about 5 minutes. Add in Italian sausage; brown and crumble.
  • In a large mixing bowl, add in pizza sauce (I used Spaghetti sauce), Italian sausage and veggies, cheese, Italian seasoning, and both cans of biscuits that have been quartered (kitchen shears work great!) Try to drop the biscuits in the sauce and move them around a little bit or they'll just stick together in a lump.
  • Pour into greased 9x13 baking dish, or bundt pan, bake at 400 for about 30-40 minutes. Until biscuits are completely done. Sprinkle with parmesan.
