1 (8 ounce) bottle Russian salad dressing
1 (10 ounce) jar apricot preserves
1 (2 ounce) package onion soup mix
1 (3 lb) whole chickens, cut up
salt
fresh ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Combine dressing, preserves, and onion mix in bowl; set aside.
  • Salt and pepper chicken.
  • Pour dressing mix in a 13 x 9 x - inch baking dish. Place chicken in single file so as they are not on top of each other, skin side down.
  • Bake at 375°F for 45 minutes, basting occasionally. Turn chicken over and bake for 35 minutes more, basting occasionally.
  • I like to serve this with wild rice, a nice salad, and fresh yeast rolls.

Sweet and gooey chicken wings prepared with common ingredients, very tender.

½ cup soy sauce
¼ cup packed brown sugar
½ tablespoon vegetable oil
½ teaspoon minced fresh ginger root
½ teaspoon garlic powder
1 ½ pounds chicken wings

Steps:

  • In a 9x13 inch casserole, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, oil, ginger, and garlic powder. Mix until brown sugar completely dissolves into the mixture. Place the chicken wings in the dish and turn them over until they are all well coated. Cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 4 hours. Turn the chicken again, after 2 hours.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Bake chicken at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C), covered, for 45 minutes. Turn the chicken wings, and spoon sauce from the bottom of the pan over the tops of the wings. Cook an additional 50 minutes, uncovered.

I got this recipe from a friend and I love it! So easy to make and tastes delicious.

Number Of Ingredients 13

1/2 c butter (melted)
1 c all purpose flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp basil, dried
1 dash(es) onion powder
1 dash(es) garlic powder
2 - 3 can(s) evaporated milk (more milk means more gravy)
4 whole chicken breasts cut into strips
2 can(s) condensed cream of chicken soup
3/4 c water
1 bunch asparagus (fresh or frozen)
3 c hot cooked rice

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350.
  • 2. Pour melted butter into a 13X9 baking dish
  • 3. In a shallow dish, combine salt, pepper, basil, and whatever your favorite dry spice is.
  • 4. In a separate shallow dish, add 1/2 can of Evaporated milk. Coat chicken strips with evap milk: dredge in flour mixture. Place in the 13X9 pan.
  • 5. Bake uncovered for 35 minutes. Remove from oven, turn chicken.
  • 6. In a small bowl, combine soup, water and remaining Evap milk . Pour over chicken. Top with fresh or frozen asparagus. Return to oven and bake for another 35 minutes.
  • 7. Remove chicken and asparagus from Baking dish: whisk gravy in baking dish until smooth.
  • 8. Serve chicken, asparagus and gravy over a bed of hot cooked rice.
