I found this recipe on the back of a Bear Creek onion soup and dip mix. My family loves sloppy joes.

Steps:
- In a large skillet, brown ground beef over medium-high heat. Drain.
- Stir in onion soup mix, brown sugar, water, and ketchup.
- Bring to a boil over high heat.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer uncovered, stirring occasionally, 8 minutes or until mixture thickens.
- Serve on hamburger buns.

- Uncover and sprinkle with flour.

This is something that my mom made when I was a child. Never knew where she got the recipe, but I still make it today. Very, very easy.

- 1. Brown ground beef and pour off fat. Add the can of french onion soup. Add flour to thicken. If you need to, you can add or subtract the amount of flour to get the consistency you like. It should be thick enough to stay on a bun and not run off. Serve on toasted hamburger buns.

- Return ground beef to skillet and sprinkle in 2 to 3 tablespoons flour.
- Add onion soup, stir, and cook until meat mixture is thickened and most of the liquid is absorbed.
- Spread mustard on white bread, spoon ground beef mixture onto bread and top with onion.

SLOPPY JOE SOUP
The soup version of this favorite sandwich is less sloppy than the original, but every bit as delicious.

- Set a large soup pot over medium-high heat. Add vegetable oil and beef; cook, stirring occasionally, until meat is browned and cooked through, about 10 minutes.
- Remove meat from pot and set aside. Drain all but 2 tablespoons of grease from pot and discard.
- Add onion and green bell pepper; cook until softened, 8-10 minutes. Add garlic, thyme and cayenne pepper; cook just until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
- Add ketchup and cook, stirring, until it darkens in color, about 1 minute. Add tomato sauce, water, beef stock, Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar and brown sugar.
- Sir well. Reduce heat to medium; add reserved ground beef. Simmer partially covered 15 minutes.
- Season to taste with salt and pepper. Serve with corn chips or toasted garlic bread.
