If you have been lucky enough to get a coveted reservation at Walt Disney World's restaurant Cinderella's Royal Table, you know how yummy these potatoes are!

Number Of Ingredients 10

4 cups potatoes, diced and cooked
1/2 cup onion, diced
1/4 cup butter, melted
1/2 cup bacon bits, cooked
1/2 cup flour
3 cups milk
1 cup mild cheddar cheese, shredded
1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
1/4 teaspoon white pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt (optional)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Dice and cook the potatoes. Dice onions.
  • In a large skillet, melt butter; add diced onion and saute.
  • Add bacon and cook for 2 minutes.
  • Add flour and stir to make a paste; cook for 5 minutes.
  • Add 3 cups milk. Stir until lumps are gone.
  • Cook mixture 10 minutes and continue stirring.
  • Add potatoes, cheese, garlic salt, white pepper and salt.
  • Mix until cheese is melted.
  • Put mixture into a baking dish and bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 minutes or until hot and top is lightly browned.

1 teaspoon dry mustard
1/2 cup cider vinegar
1/4 cup lime juice
1/4 cup diced white onion
1 cup canola oil

  • Slowly add oil until well incorporated into dressing.

'Ohana Maui Scalloped Potatoes image

This is the popular side dish served at 'Ohana, Disney's Polynesian Village Resort

1 lb russet potatoes, washed and scrubbed
2 tsp kosher salt
1/4 c sweet onions, thinly sliced
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 1/2 c cheddar cheese, shredded
2 Tbsp parmesan cheese
1 c heavy cream

Steps:

  • 1. Using a mandolin, cut potatoes ¼ inch slices. Separate potatoes that may be still stuck together and in a large bowl, toss with salt. Set aside for 5 minutes.
  • 2. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • 3. Add to the potatoes the onions, pepper, cheddar cheese, and Parmesan cheese. Toss thoroughly. Spread into a large casserole dish sprayed lightly with nonstick spray. Add heavy cream and toss to ensure it's evenly spread through the casserole.
  • 4. For creamier potatoes, add up to an additional ¼ to ½ cup of heavy cream.
  • 5. Bake for 1 to 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally if desired, or until potatoes are cooked. Potatoes should be mostly soft, but still holding their shape without mashing, firm but not crunchy.
  • 6. Serve warm.
