3 large eggs
3 tablespoons sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup canola oil (or other vegetable oil)
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
coarse decorating sugar

Steps:

  • Instructions Preheat the oven to 400 F. Process the eggs and the sugar in the food processor for one minute. Add the salt and oil and process until combined. In a small bowl, mix the flour and baking powder. Add the flour and baking powder to the food processor in three additions, processing after each addition until fully combined. After the last addition, process until the dough is thick and very sticky. Take balls of super sticky dough and roll the dough in coarse sugar. (I used tablespoon-sized balls of dough for my cookies. This produced really large cookies. If you prefer smaller ones, use just a teaspoon of dough. The cookies rise quite a bit.) Once rolled in sugar, the dough will no longer be sticky and you can form it into a bow-tie by flattening it and giving it one twist in the middle. Place bow-ties onto a parchment- or silpat-lined cookie sheet. Leave a little space between cookies for them to grow. Bake for eight minutes. Reduce heat to 300 F and bake for another 12 minutes. Reduce heat to 170 F and bake for another 20 minutes. Turn off heat and leave in the warm oven for another 10 minutes. 1 pinch salt
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup nuts

Steps:

  • Beat egg whites and salt until very stiff.
  • Add sugars and beat until ver stiff.
  • Add vanilla.
  • Fold in chocolate chips and nuts.
  • Form preferred size and bake on cookie sheet for 1 hour at 200 degrees.
  • Let cool in oven.

This are light, airy little pastries. This recipe came from "The Essential Amish Cookbook, Everyday Recipes From Farm and Pantry" by Lovina Eichler. I got this from Amazon. BTW, my husband said they're much better when freshly cooked. Fortunately the recipe doesn't make a lot so they're not around long enough to get cold...

3/4 c heavy cream
1 egg, well beaten
1 pinch salt
2 c flour
oil for frying
powdered sugar

Steps:

  • 1. Stir together cream, egg, salt and just enough flour to make an elastic dough. The first time I only needed 1-1/2 cups.
  • 2. Divide dough into 8 balls for bigger pieces or more balls if you want smaller pieces. Roll out into very thin, flat circles. Cut slits across so it doesn't puff too much when fried.
  • 3. After heating oil to 365 drop pieces 1 at a time and fry until golden then put out on paper towels to drain slightly.
  • 4. While still very warm dust each side with powdered sugar. If not sweet enough you could use granulated sugar instead. This way is good with cinnamon in the sugar.

0.25 cups cream
1 pinches salt
23 cups flour
1 units oil
1 units powdered sugar

Steps:

  • Beat the egg and stir in the cream, salt, and enough flour to make a stiff elastic dough.
  • Divide the dough into 6 or 7 balls and roll each ball flat and very thin (1/16 in). Cut 3 two inch slits, one above the other, through the middle of each piece.
  • Heat the shortening in a kettle over high heat. When the shortening reaches 365 degrees or when a piece of dough tossed in sizzles, put one piece of dough at a time into the kettle. Turn each piece over with two forks when you see a slight golden color. Take out and put on a plate covered with paper towels to drain. Sprinkle powdered sugar over the top. Stack all of the Nothings on one plate and serve.

3/4 c perpare pancake mix
3/4 c milk
hot oil
1 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 egg
powdered sugar
bread, white as many as need

Steps:

  • 1. take crust off bread ,flat bread, spread jelly all over the bread ,roll up bread with jelly going on the inside stick a toothpick through the middle and wrap or wrap with wax paper tight and chill over night
  • 2. the next day combine pancake mix,egg,milk,sugar,baking soda and mix.take out toothpicks if using ,dip bread roll into mix cover completely cook to golden brown
  • 3. sprinkle powder sugar on top

1 box(es) rice chex cereal
1 box(es) confectioner's sugar

Steps:

  • 1. In medium saucepan melt butter, chocolate chips, and peanut butter. 2. In large bowl pour box of cereal. 3. Pour melted mixture over cereal 4. Put confectioner's sugar in large bag. 5. Pour cereal mixture in bag and shake until well coated. 6. Store in air tight container.
