NEW BRIDGE STEAK TIPS

New Bridge Steak Tips image

The New Bridge Cafe in Chelsea, Massachusetts is famous for their steak tips. This recipe was given to me by someone who had a relative that worked there. A lot of people think there is ketchup in the marinade, but it is actually chili sauce. The marinade ingredients must be in equal parts, and you must use regular Coca-Cola, not diet. The sugar in the soda helps tenderize the meat, and also adds flavor.

NEWBRIDGE STYLE STEAK TIPS

As weird as the marinade sounds it is soooooo good. You don't taste any one ingredient over the over. This recipe is a copy cat of a restaurant in Massachusetts that serves these. Preparation times does not include marinating overnight.

BEER-BRAISED STEAK TIPS

Beer-Braised Steak Tips image

Was looking for a way to fix steak. We had just received a side of beef for a work bonus and we were getting tired of having it on the grill. I like to serve this with red potato casserole.

Provided by Jaimi

Time 40m

Yield 6

Number Of Ingredients 6

2 pounds sirloin steak tips
2 tablespoons salted butter
4 tablespoons minced fresh garlic
4 stalks green onions, diced
1 (12 fluid ounce) can beer, or more to taste
2 tablespoons whiskey

Steps:

  • Slice steak tips into 1/2-inch strips.
  • Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and saute until softened, about 3 minutes. Add steak and green onions, then pour in 1 can beer and whiskey. Cover with a lid and bring to a simmer. Simmer until meat is no longer pink, about 20 minutes; if liquid is running low, add a little more beer.
  • Increase heat and cook until sauce has thickened, about 2 minutes.
