A creamy version of a comfort food classic. This recipe is a staple in our home and when served to guests they beg for the recipe. Hope you enjoy it too. :)

2 cups dry elbow macaroni
2 (5 ounce) cans albacore tuna, in water. Undrained
8 ounces sour cream
1 cup vegetables, we use frozen corn
1 cup sharp cheddar cheese
1 (10 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
garlic powder
cracker, if desired

Steps:

  • Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees.
  • Cook pasta until al dente.
  • Combine tuna, sour cream, soup, veggies, and garlic in a pot and warm on stove top over low heat.
  • Combine tuna mixture with cooked, drained pasta and pour into a greased 9x12 pan.
  • Top with cheese and crackers and bake for 25 minutes.
  • Mmmm, good.

1 (10 1/2 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can condensed cream of celery soup
2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
1 small onion, diced
2 (6 ounce) cans tuna, drained
1 1/2 cups sour cream
1 (8 ounce) box whole wheat elbow macaroni

Steps:

  • Cook pasta and drain.
  • Preheat oven to 350.
  • Set aside 1 cup of the Cheddar for topping.
  • Mix all other ingredients well and put into covered casserole dish. Top with the reserved Cheddar prior to baking. Bake for 45 minutes.

1 cup chow mein noodles (I prefer La Choy in a can)
1 (10 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
1 (6 ounce) can tuna
1/8 cup milk
1/4 cup peas
1 (4 ounce) can mushrooms
3 slices white bread, cubed

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Spray 11x7 (2 quart) baking pan with non-stick spray.
  • Line bottom of pan with chow mein noodles.
  • In a medium bowl, combine soup, tuna and milk.
  • Stir till creamy.
  • Add peas and mushrooms.
  • Pour mixture in pan over chow mein noodles.
  • Cover mixture with cubed bread.
  • Bake for about 15 minutes.

5 cups uncooked egg noodles
1 cup frozen peas
1 can (10-3/4 ounces) reduced-fat reduced-sodium condensed cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
1 cup fat-free sour cream
2/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/3 cup 2% milk
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cans (5 ounces each) light tuna in water, drained and flaked
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1/4 cup finely chopped green pepper
TOPPING:
1/2 cup soft bread crumbs
1 tablespoon butter, melted

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. Cook noodles according to package directions for al dente, adding peas during the last minute of cooking; drain., Meanwhile, in a large bowl, combine soup, sour cream, cheese, milk and salt; stir in tuna, onion and pepper. 1 (10 1/2 ounce) can cream of celery soup, undiluted
1 (4 ounce) jar pimientos (I think it's the 4 oz jar, it's the smallest one)
1 tablespoon green pepper, diced
1 tablespoon onion, diced
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 cup milk
1/4 lb shredded cheddar cheese, divided
1 cup frozen peas and pearl onions
1 lb elbow macaroni, cooked
2 (6 ounce) cans tuna in water, drained

Steps:

  • In a large saucepan over medium heat, heat the soup, pimento, green pepper, onion, pepper, and milk. Stir in half of the cheese until melted.
  • Prepare the peas and pearl onions according to package directions.
  • In a bowl, combine the macaroni with the tuna and peas/onions.

This tuna noodle casserole is the best with a classic creamy taste from my childhood. The sauce is rich and creamy but not overwhelmingly heavy. The crunch from the topping and fresh bite from the parsley create the perfect balance. Let's not forget that this is a great budget-friendly meal to feed a crowd!

1 (12 ounce) package egg noodles
4 ¼ teaspoons kosher salt, divided
4 tablespoons salted butter, divided
5 teaspoons olive oil, divided
1 (8 ounce) package sliced fresh mushrooms
1 small white onion, minced
¼ cup all-purpose flour
2 cups milk
1 ½ cups chicken stock
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
1 ½ cups shredded white Cheddar cheese
1 cup frozen sweet peas
2 (6 ounce) cans tuna, drained
1 cup panko bread crumbs
¼ teaspoon ground paprika
2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh parsley

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add egg noodles and 3 teaspoons salt to the boiling water; cook until tender yet firm to the bite, about 6 minutes. Drain noodles. Return to pot and set aside.
  • Heat 2 tablespoons butter and 1 tablespoon oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add mushrooms and onion and cook until mushrooms are softened and onions are translucent, about 4 minutes.
