Applesauce puffs, rolled in cinnamon sugar mixture a delicious breakfast, brunch or snack treat.

2 c biscuit mix
1/4 c sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 c applesauce ((I used natural))
1/4 c milk
1 egg
2 T oil
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup melted butter

Steps:

  • Mix biscuit mix, sugar and cinnamon
  • Mix in applesauce, milk, egg and oil
  • Stir well
  • Fill greased muffin pans 2/3 full
  • Bake @375 for 15 minutes
  • Remove immediately from pan and roll in melted butter
  • Combine cinnamon and sugar in a small bowl and roll muffin with melted butter on it in mixture
  • Let cool and serve

2 cups baking mix (such as Bisquick®)
½ cup applesauce
½ cup white sugar, divided
¼ cup milk
1 large egg
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 ¼ teaspoons ground cinnamon, divided
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease 30 mini muffin cups.
  • Mix baking mix, applesauce, 1/4 cup sugar, milk, egg, oil, and 1 teaspoon cinnamon together in a bowl until just blended.
  • Spoon batter into the prepared muffin cups, filling each 3/4 full.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until golden, 12 to 15 minutes.
  • While puffs are baking, place melted butter in a shallow bowl, and combine remaining sugar and cinnamon in a second shallow bowl.
  • Dip warm puffs in melted butter, then in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.

1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup sugar
2 large eggs
3/4 cup reserved Double-Duty Heavenly Applesauce or other cinnamon applesauce
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1-2/3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
TOPPING:
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3 tablespoons butter, melted

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400°. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in applesauce and vanilla. In another bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg. Add to creamed mixture; stir just until moistened., Fill paper-lined mini-muffin cups three-fourths full. Bake 10-12 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 5 minutes before removing from pans to wire racks., For topping, in a small bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon. Dip tops of warm muffins in melted butter, then in cinnamon sugar. Serve warm.

I would make these for my kid's school parties when they were in grade school and when I was home-room momming. It was a healthy and good for you choice that teachers were pleased to have served as treats.

2 c package biscuit mix like bisquick
1/4 c sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 c applesauce
1/4 c milk
1 egg, ighty beaten
2 Tbsp vegetable oil
TOPPING:
2 Tbsp melted margarine
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 c sugar

Steps:

  • 1. Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees.
  • 2. Combine biscuit mix, 1/4 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon.
  • 3. Add applesauce, milk, egg and oil. Beat vigorously for 30 seconds.
  • 4. Grease 2 small muffins tins and fill two-thirds full. (yields 24)
  • 5. Bake in 400 degree oven for 12 minutes. Or until it comes out clean with a tooth pick. Ovens may vary.
  • 6. Dip tops in melted butter and then into sugar mixed with cinnamon. Yeilds 24

5 T. melted butter

Steps:

  • Combine Bisquick, ¼c. sugar and 1 t. cinnamon. Stir in applesauce, milk, egg and oil until well mixed. Fill greases muffin pan ⅔ full. Back at 400 for 10 min. In a bowl mix ½ c. sugar with 2 t. cinnamon. Dip hot puffs in bowl of melted butter and then in bowl of cinnamon sugar.
