These frozen melon-margarita pops are tangy hand-held treats that make you feel grown-up and kidlike at the same time. Dip juicy pieces of melons in margarita mix, perch on wooden sticks, and freeze until icy. For a zingy combo of cool and hot, nibble peppery nasturtiums between bites.

3/4 cup tequila
1/2 cup Grand Marnier
1/2 cup fresh lime juice
Pinch of coarse salt
8 ounces cantaloupe, rinds removed
8 ounces watermelon, rinds removed
Nasturtiums, optional

Steps:

  • Stir together tequila, Grand Marnier, fresh lime juice, and coarse salt in a large bowl. Cut cantaloupe and watermelon into wedges. Soak in tequila mixture for 15 minutes. Insert ice-pop sticks into wedges. Freeze on a rack-lined baking sheet for 1 hour. Serve with nasturtiums.

1 lime wedge
Coarse sea salt, optional
1-1/2 ounces blanco tequila
1-1/2 ounces melon liqueur
1/2 ounce freshly-squeezed lime juice
Honeydew melon balls, optional

Steps:

  • Moisten rim of 1 cocktail glass with lime wedge. If desired, sprinkle salt on a plate; dip rim in salt. Fill glass with ice. In an empty cocktail shaker, combine tequila, melon liqueur, and lime juice. Fill with ice; cover and shake until frost forms on the outside of the shaker, 15-20 seconds. Strain into prepared glass. Garnish with lime wedge and, if desired, melon balls.

1/4 cup Triple Sec or Cointreau
2 tablespoons Simple Syrup Make-Ahead Simple Syrup
8 cups melon balls, from a variety of melons
Fresh mint, for serving

Steps:

  • To make the margarita syrup; In a medium bowl, whisk together tequila, lime juice, Triple Sec, and simple syrup.
  • Arrange the melon balls in a bowl or serving dishes. Drizzle with about 1/4 cup margarita syrup. Reserve remaining syrup for another use. Garnish with mint, and serve immediately.

1 oz. orange juice
1 Tbs. agave nectar
5 watermelon cubes
1 small watermelon wedge

  • Muddle the watermelon cubes in the bottom of a shaker glass. Add ice, Patron, lime juice, orange juice and agave syrup. Give it a good shake for approximately 10 seconds. Strain and pour into large rocks glass. Garnish with a watermelon wedge.
