1 medium cantaloupe, cut into chunks
1 medium honeydew, cut into chunks
3 cups fresh pineapple chunks
1 cup halved strawberries
BANANA DRESSING:
1 medium ripe banana, cut into chunks
1/2 cup sour cream
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1-1/2 teaspoons lemon juice

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine the melon, pineapple and strawberries; set aside. Place the dressing ingredients in a blender; cover and process until smooth. Serve with fruit salad.

1 large honeydew melon
1 pint fresh strawberries
1 cup fresh blueberries
1 medium peach
Fresh mint (optional)

Steps:

  • Directions: With a sharp knife, cut a thin slice from the bottom of the melon so it sits level. , Place a sheet of waxed paper over the swan pattern and trace with fine-line permanent marker. Cut out pattern. Place pattern on melon so the base of the swan's neck is, at the lower, broader end of melon. Attach pattern to melon with masking tape (see photo 1)., With a sharp knife, trace over the design outline on the rind (the pattern is for the neck, head and sides of swan; the tail is cut without a pattern). After tracing, reverse the pattern. Lay it, on the opposite side of the melon with the base of the neck overlapping the traced neck. Trace only the side wing portion of the pattern (see photo 2). , Mark the ends of the traced lines on each side of the melon with toothpicks. Mark the center of this area with another toothpick. Beginning in the middle and working toward the toothpicks, cut four tall peaks (as shown in photo 3) into the rind to form the tail. Remove the toothpicks after cutting., With knife, retrace designs, cutting deeper into melon. Cut and remove unwanted portions of rind in small sections (see photo 4)., Remove and discard seeds. Scoop out pulp, leaving a 1/2-inch shell. Cut melon into bite-size pieces. Slice the peach., In a large bowl, combine melon, berries and peach slices. Spoon into the swan shell and place on a serving platter. Garnish with, mint and additional strawberries if desired.

2 or 3 muskmelon or honeydew, cut in 1/2, seeded
WHAT YOU WILL NEED FOR FILLING MELON CAVITY-OPTIONS
seedless red, green and purple grapes
pineapple chunks, fresh
watermelon bite size pieces
honeydew melon bite size pieces
muskmelon bite size pieces
apples ,any color skin on,cut in bite size pieces
CREAM CHEESE DRESSING
10 oz thawed whipped topping
3 oz pkg. cream cheese, very soft
beat together ingredients until well blended. set bowl over ice cubes or ice pack.
FRENCH DRESSING
1/4 c french dressing
1 c mayonnaise
combine the 2 and blend well. set in bowl over ice.
CHEESECAKE DRESSING
3 oz pkg. cook and serve cheesecake pudding and pie filling
1 c pineapple juice
in a saucepan add the pineapple juice and the pudding mix dry. stir to combine. cook until thickened. let cool slightly. place in serving bowl over ice.
SODA POP DRESSING
combine equal amounts of soda pop and fruit juice and drizzle over salad.

Steps:

  • 1. Melon Bowls: Cut melons in 1/2 using a zig-zag cut or a round petal cut. Remove seeds and strings. Remove melon from each 1/2 and cut into bite size pieces or into melon balls.Place fruit pieces and other fruit in a large bowl and drizzle with the soda pop mixture. Fill melon 1/2's with mixed fruit. Cover and chill until party time.
  • 2. Set melons out on tray with dressing so guests can choose their own or just make the one you like and drizzle over fruit or let guests do their own drizzling.

MELON BOWL WITH HONEY DRESSING

Number Of Ingredients 13

1 watermelon small
2 cups honeydew melons balls (about 1 small)
2 cups cantaloupes balls (about 1 small)
2 cups strawberries halved
2 cups green seedless grapes
1/3 cup honey
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
1/2 cup vegetable oil
4 teaspoons sesame seeds toasted
mint leaves

Steps:

  • Slice top or end off watermelon. Cut a thin slice off opposite end so watermelon can sit flat. Scoop out watermelon in balls until you have 4 cups. Remove remaining watermelon to make a bowl refrigerate cut-out watermelon for another use. Cover watermelon shell and chill.In a large bowl, place 4 cups watermelon balls, honeydew and cantaloupe balls, strawberries and grapes set aside.In a small bowl, combine honey, paprika, dry mustard and salt. Stir in vinegar. Slowly whisk in oil until thick and emulsified. Stir in 2 teaspoons of the sesame seeds. Pour about 1/2 cup of the dressing over fruit in large bowl. Stir gently until well coated. Cover and chill at least 1 hour. Set remaining dressing and seeds aside.To serve, place fruit in watermelon shell. Sprinkle with remaining sesame seeds. Garnish with mint leaves. Pass remaining dressing separately.
