- Tartar Sauce: At least one hour before you prepare the fish, make the tartar sauce by combining all of the ingredients in a container with a lid. Refrigerate for at least one hour.
- To assemble the sandwiches: Bake fish fillets according to the box. Top with a slice of American cheese while hot. Steam buns by placing them in a plastic bag with a damp paper towel. Microwave for 30 seconds to steam. Place fish, topped with cheese on bun, add tartar sauce. Enjoy!

I tweaked this recipe for months until I came up with a very good clone of McDonald's® famous tartar sauce.

Steps:
- Blend mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons relish, capers, 1 tablespoon chopped onion, parsley, and sugar in a blender until smooth. Stir remaining relish and onion into the blended mixture.
- Transfer sauce to a bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate at least 2 hours before serving.

I make this every time we have fish sandwiches. It tastes just like Mc Donald's so if you love their fish sandwiches you'll enjoy this. Another great copycat from Todd Wilbur.

Steps:
- Combine mayonnaise, sweet relish, minced onion, and salt in a small bowl.
- Mix thoroughly.
- Chill for at least 1 hour to allow flavors to blend.
- Remove from fridge about 10 minutes before serving and stir well.
- Tip; If making sandwiches, add even more Mc Donald's flavor by lightly toasting cut sides of regular hamburger buns in a dry, nonstick skillet over medium-high heat.
- Watch closely so they do not burn.
- Melt a slice of American cheese atop a piece of cooked, breaded fish {Mrs. Paul's works well} and assemble sandwich.
