2 cups ale
1¼ tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp seasoned salt
1 tsp ground black pepper
(2 to 8 oz), cut of your choice steak
2 oz potato fries
2 oz mixed vegetables

Steps:

  • Marinate your steak of choice in the ale for 1 hour in the refrigerator. Do not marinate overnight.
  • Thoroughly combine brown sugar, seasoned salt, and black pepper in a small bowl.
  • Preheat your grill to medium-high heat and grease with cooking spray.
  • Remove the steak from the ale and rub the sugar mixture onto both sides.
  • Grill the marinated steak to your desired level of doneness.
  • Serve with potato fries, mixed vegetables, or your preferred side dishes.

1 cup good quality ale
2 teaspoons light brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Marinate steak in the ale in a zip-top bag or plastic container for one hour in the refrigerator. Do not marinate overnight. Combine the brown sugar, salt, and pepper in a small bowl until well blended. Remove the steak from the marinade and rub the brown sugar mixture on both sides. Place on waxed paper and return to refrigerator for 30-60 minutes. To Cook: Heat a cast iron skillet, grill pan, or outdoor grill to medium high heat (greasing as needed). Cook steak to desired doneness.

Found this recipe in America's Most Wanted Recipes by Ron Douglas...there is already one posted but it is a little different and uses msg and this doesn't. It has a few more spices and is very delicious! Preparation time is also including the marinating and cooking time is to your doneness for grilling.

4 beef sirloin steaks, 1 1/2-2 inches thick about 6 oz. each
1 cup beer
1 tablespoon dark brown sugar, packed
1 teaspoon seasoning salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Steps:

  • Place the steaks in a shallow pan, pour the beer over and marinate for 1 hour in the refrigerator.
  • Remove the steaks from the beer.
  • Combine the dry ingredients and rub over the steaks.
  • Let rest for 30 minutes in the refrigerator -- better if you let sit overnight or for several hours!
  • Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  • Grill the steaks to the desired degree of doneness. I usually use my George Foreman Grill. Eat and enjoy!

Our DD and SIL recently came down for a visit. As a birthday treat, they prepared supper. They served this delicious steak as their entree along with Amarillo Cheese Fries & Dip and a wonderful tossed salad. (Prep. time does not include refrigeration time).

4 beef steaks
1 cup beer
1 tablespoon packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon seasoning salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon msg (sold under the label as Accent)

Steps:

  • Place your favorite cut of steak in a shallow pan.
  • Pour beer over steak and refrigerate 1 hour, turning occasionally.
  • Meanwhile, combine brown sugar, seasoned salt, pepper and MSG, making a dry rub.
  • Remove steaks from beer.
  • Dry rub steaks all over; refrigerate 1/2 hour longer.
  • Pre-heat grill or skillet to medium high.
  • Spray cooking surface with non-stick spray.

1 cup scottish ale
2 teaspoons brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon seasoning salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon msg

Steps:

  • Place your favorite cut of steak in a shallow pan and pour ale on steak and marinate for 1 hour in refrigerator.
  • Remove steak from ale.
  • Mix dry ingredients together and rub steak on both sides.
  • Let marinate with dry ingredients for 1/2 hour.
  • Preheat a skillet or grill to med high heat add vegetable spray or vegetable oil and braise to perfection.
  • This can be made at home!
  • Can braze the steak in butter, not the vegetable oil.

  • These amounts will handle 1 1/2 lbs of beef nicely.

This is a family recipe that has been developed only over the last 5 years. In this short time it's made me famous in our close circle, but until now I've never shared it with anyone.

⅓ cup soy sauce
½ cup olive oil
⅓ cup fresh lemon juice
¼ cup Worcestershire sauce
1 ½ tablespoons garlic powder
3 tablespoons dried basil
1 ½ tablespoons dried parsley flakes
1 teaspoon ground white pepper
¼ teaspoon hot pepper sauce
1 teaspoon dried minced garlic

Steps:

  • Place the soy sauce, olive oil, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, basil, parsley, and pepper in a blender. Add hot pepper sauce and garlic, if desired. Blend on high speed for 30 seconds until thoroughly mixed.
  • Pour marinade over desired type of meat. Cover, and refrigerate for up to 8 hours. Cook meat as desired.

4 -6 teaspoons salt (depending on taste)
4 teaspoons paprika
2 teaspoons ground black pepper
