PEANUT BUTTER DOUGH:
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup peanut butter
1-1/4 cups sugar
1-1/4 cups packed brown sugar
3 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup chopped peanuts
CHOCOLATE DOUGH:
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup packed brown sugar
3/4 cup sugar
3 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup baking cocoa
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, cream the butter, peanut butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; gradually add to the creamed mixture and mix well. Stir in peanuts; set aside. , For chocolate dough, in another bowl, cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla. Combine the flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt; gradually add to the creamed mixture and mix well. Stir in chocolate chips. Gently fold in peanut butter dough until slightly marbled., Drop by heaping tablespoonfuls 3 in. apart onto greased baking sheets. Bake at 350° for 14-16 minutes or until lightly browned and firm. Remove to wire racks to cool completely.

A neighbor shared this recipe with me over 20 years ago. It's a simple recipe using cake mix for rich tasting cookies.

1 (18 ounce) box fudge marble cake mix with pudding (pudding in the mix is a requirement)
1/3 cup oil
1 egg
4 tablespoons water (divided 3T and 1 T)
1 cup chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F.
  • By hand, mix together cake mix, oil, 3 T water, and egg.
  • In a small bowl stir together fudge packet and 1 T water.
  • Add approximately 1/4 of the light batter to the chocolate batter.
  • Add chocolate chips to the light batter.
  • Spoon dark batter over light batter. Marbleize slightly.
  • Drop onto ungreased cookie sheets with a spoon.
  • Bake 10-12 minutes. Cool 1 minutes on cookies sheet, then cool on a wire rack.

1/2 cup sugar
3/4 cup milk chocolate chips, divided

Steps:

  • Prepare cake batter according to package directions. Pour into a greased 15x10x1-in. baking pan. In a small bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. All my family and friends love my cookies I make. I thought I would try something different, so I made a marbled chocolate chip cookie. They came out GREAT!!

2 cups shortening
¼ cup water
1 ½ cups white sugar
1 ½ cups brown sugar
4 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
4 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
4 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • In a large bowl, cream together the shortening, water, white sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well with each addition, then stir in the vanilla. Combine the flour and baking soda, stir into the creamed mixture. Fold in the chocolate chips, then fold in the cocoa powder last to create a marbled effect. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto a cookie sheet.
  • Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
