DRUID LOVE POTION TEA
A little Valentine's fun; but the fragrance of this tea is so beautiful that you won't care if it makes anyone fall in love with you or not. I've included the pertinent info regarding the proper making of the tea, but if you just want a really wonderful herbal-black tea blend, brew some up any time. And always remember to use rose petals that haven't been treated with commercial pesticides!

Steps:
- Place all ingredients (except water and sweetener) in an earthenware or copper tea kettle.
- Boil the 3 cups of water and add to the kettle; sweeten with sugar or honey as you wish.
- Tea should be brewed on a Friday during a waxing moon (signifies moving from empty to full).
- And before drinking, recite this rhyme: "By the light of moon waxing, I brew this tea, to make (your honey's name; like "Ed", for example) desire me.
- "Then take a swig and say "Goddess of Love hear now my plea; let [your honey's name] desire me!
- So mote it be, so mote it be.
- "As you can probably guess,"mote" an old word for"might"; it's still used in some Freemason rituals.
- Then, the following Friday, whip up this tea again and give it to your honey, who will then begin to fall in love with you.
- If nothing else, you'll share a great cup of tea!

Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Grease and flour a 6 to 8-cup bundt pan and set aside.
- Blend the cream cheese with the 1/4 cup granulated sugar and the vanilla.
- Scrape the bowl; add the egg and mix well. Set aside while you prepare the cake batter.
- Sift the flour, the 1-1/3 cups granulated sugar, baking soda, and salt into a mixing bowl; whisk briefly to blend.
- Whisk in the oil, lemon zest, and about half of the buttermilk until smooth. This first addition will prevent lumps from forming; do not be tempted to pour in all of the liquid at once.
- Whisk in the remaining buttermilk, mixing only long enough to combine.
- Pour half of the cake batter into the prepared bundt pan.
- Dollop the cream cheese mixture over the batter, trying to center it in the pan so it doesn't reach either edge.
- Cover with the remaining batter.
- Bake for about 55 minutes, until the top is golden brown and slightly firm to the touch. If you check it with a toothpick or cake tester, there should be only traces of cream cheese and no loose batter.
- Cool the cake in the pan for 15 minutes; invert onto a rack to cool completely.
- To add the final touch, stir the lemon juice into the confectioners' sugar until smooth. Drizzle the glaze over the cake in a random pattern.

LADYBUG LOVE TEA SANDWICHES
I am pleased to share my Ladybug Love Tea Sammies that I created for the Valentine's Day party I had with friends this past Sunday. They were a hit and matched with my homemade Ladybug Valentine cards. I have a friend Rosemarie who is so generous & patient that she taught me how to make the cards & we created them as we went...

Steps:
- 1. Mix all ingredients for the spread and refrigerate overnight for better flavor. Several hours before the party slice your small grape tomatoes in half (longwise), the olives in half for the heads so that you can then assemble them. Now, take the tomato and pierce with toothpick that has been dipped into the balsalmic glaze to make your spots on the ladybug plus give addt'l flavor to your sammie. (These measurements for the spices are estimates as I taste while mixing together. Please add a little more if need be.)
- 2. Here is a photo of my ladybug love tea sammies at the Valentine Party we had this past weekend. I cheated and didn't put the ladies polka dots on all of the them....they are non-spotted ladybugs. haha Still though, they looked cute enough for the party.
- 3. Here is a photo of some of the tea sandwiches from the Valentine party along with my very first homemade card.
FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE TEA
The most romantic and wonderful tea I have ever had was while I was in Russia. Russians love their tea! Tea time is anytime; morning, afternoon or dinner. Tea (or Chai as they call it) is served with sugar, honey or flavored jams. Sweet tea biscuits are served with the tea. It was one of my most memorable experiences while in Russia. It was a make time for "tea time" experience and you relished the moment sipping on your tea and chatting with one another. Breathing in that very moment of time and beauty that life gives you. I hope you can take a moment out of your day and sit down with family or friends and make some tea time and enjoy the company of one another. I am sure you will be glad you did. ....From Russia with Love Kim

Steps:
- While in Russia on several mission trips I was blessed with such gratitude and expressions of love that I had never seen before. Some of the women who worked in the orphanages that we visited had saved money throughout the year to present us with Tea and Russian pie. To this day it was one of the most honored moments in my life that I have ever experienced. I shall never forgot their sacrifice of gratitude towards us.
- The children are told at the orphanages that we are coming and they begin to pratice for an entire year to present us with song and dance. These children have no families so they feel really special that we are there to see them.
- Here is a picture of the younger children who we also spent time with....aren't they all so beautiful?
- Another "tea time" that we had at another orphanage. (It was really funny because most of us did not know that the jam that was sitting by the teapot was supposed to flavor the tea.)
- Here we are in a family home having lunch and afterwards tea, of course.
- In all the cities and people that I visited with while in Russia my heart was smitten in St. Petersburg.
- I would have loved to had a Russian Teapot or Samovar to bring home with me but I choose this one tea cup and saucer (pictured to the left) in St. Petersburg's famous Lomonosov porcelain factory that was founded in 1744. As I take out my tea cup to have a cup of tea I am reminded of the special times I had in Russia just as I was doing so tonight I was prompted to write this recipe for you. I hope you enjoy. Dasvidaniya for now.

Ahh, summer and iced tea. This is a perfect way to enjoy both. The 1 hr cook time is stand time. As written this is quite a mild tea. If you would like a stronger flavor please feel free to use more tea bags.
