I love Lemonade! I'm on the HCG diet and was missing it. This recipe does the trick with a kick of orange zest (0cals!). Be sure to use Stevia (the only HCG approved sweetner)

1 whole lemon, peeled
1 Tbsp orange zest (grate the skin of the orange)
16 oz water, cold
ice cubes
stevia, sweeten to taste

Steps:

  • 1. Peel your lemon, grate your orange, add water, cubes and stevia to your blender. THE WHOLE LEMON!
  • 2. Blend till slushie, add as many cubes as needed to get your preferred slush.
  • 3. You are allowed one lemon a day on the HCG diet! Modify by adding strawberries and/or fresh mint. Add vodka for happy hour! Super refreshing

4-1/4 cups water, divided
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup lemon juice (about 4 lemons)
3/4 cup orange juice (about 3 oranges)
2 teaspoons grated lemon zest
1 teaspoon grated orange zest
Ice cubes
Lemon slices, optional

Steps:

  • In a small saucepan, bring 1-1/4 cups water and sugar to a boil. Reduce heat. Simmer for 10 minutes; cool. , Transfer to a pitcher; add lemon and orange juices and zests. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour. , Stir in the remaining water. Serve over ice. Garnish with lemon if desired.

This is a summer delight! I found this several years ago in a magazine. It's addictive, and it's a breeze to mix up. Go ahead! Pour yourself a glass of summer!

1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1/3 cup fresh lemon juice
2 cups milk (I used 1%)
1 tablespoon lemon extract
1/2 teaspoon grated lemon, rind of
2 liters carbonated lemon-lime beverage, well-chilled (7-up)

Steps:

  • Beat sugar and lemon juice on high speed for 3 minutes or until sugar is partially dissolved.
  • Gradually add milk, beating constantly on high.
  • Stir in lemon extract and lemon peel.
  • Transfer this lemon/sugar mixture to serving pitcher.
  • Refrigerate until ready to serve.
  • Just before serving, gently stir in soda.
  • Best served over ice.
  • This could possibly be made with Splenda, and also might be tasty with orange juice/extract instead of lemon.

3/4 cup thawed limeade concentrate
2 liters lemon-lime soda, chilled

Steps:

  • In a 4-qt. freezer container, combine the water, sugar and limeade concentrate until sugar is dissolved; cover and freeze. Remove from the freezer several hours before serving. Chop mixture until slushy. Add soda just before serving. Garnish with lime slices if desired.

2-1/2 cups water
2 tablespoons grated lemon zest
2 tablespoons grated orange zest
1-1/2 cups lemon juice (about 10 lemons)
1-1/2 cups orange juice (about 5 oranges)
6 cups cold water

Steps:

  • In a large saucepan, combine sugar and 2-1/2 cups water; cook and stir over medium heat until sugar is dissolved. Cool slightly., Stir in citrus zest and juices. Let stand, covered, 1 hour. Strain syrup; refrigerate, covered, until cold., To serve, fill glasses or pitcher with equal amounts of fruit syrup and water. Add ice and serve.
