MOM'S APPLE CRISP

This is my Grandma's and Mom's recipe,, quick and easy!!

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 c flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 c brown sugar
1/2 c soft butter
1` c oatmeal, uncooked
3 c apples (spy's are better), but into bite size pieces or slices, skins removed
3/4 c sugar
cinnamon, sprinkle as much as you want

Steps:

  • 1. Mix together the first six ingredients and press half the mixture of the bottom of a 8" sprayed pan. In separate bowl combine apples, sugar and dashes of cinnamon and mix. Pour on top of oatmeal mixture and then top with the remaining Oatmeal mixture you have left. Bake at 350 for 30 mins. (double for a 9x13 pan)

3 -4 large apples
1/2 cup flour
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup quick-cooking rolled oats

Steps:

  • Peel apples and remove cores.
  • Slice apples into thin slices and put into lightly greased casserole dish.
  • Mix sugar and flour together.
  • Cut in butter until you have course crumbs.
  • Stir in oats and pour over apples.
  • Bake at 350°F for 35 minutes.

6 cups thinly sliced peeled tart apples
1/2 cup sugar
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons butter
TOPPING:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
1 large egg, lightly beaten
Vanilla ice cream, optional

Steps:

  • Combine the apples, sugar, flour and cinnamon in a large bowl. Transfer to an 11x7-in. baking dish; dot with butter. , For topping, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder and nutmeg in another large bowl. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in egg just until moistened; sprinkle over filling., Bake, uncovered, at 375° for 40-45 minutes or until topping is golden brown and apples are tender. Serve warm with ice cream if desired.

1/2 cup old fashioned oats
3 Honey Maid Honey Grahams, finely crushed
1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/3 cup flour
1/4 cup planters walnut pieces
1/3 cup butter or 1/3 cup margarine, melted
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, divided
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons flour
6 cups peeled granny smith apples, slices (about 5 medium apples)

Steps:

  • PREHEAT oven to 375°F Mix oats, graham crumbs, 1/3 cup each of the brown sugar and flour, the walnuts, butter and 1/2 teaspoons of the cinnamon until well blended; set aside.
  • MIX 1/2 cup brown sugar, 2 tablespoons flour and remaining 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon in large bowl. Add apples; toss to coat. Place in 8-inch square baking dish; sprinkle with the oat topping.
  • BAKE 35 to 40 minute or until apples are tender. Cool slightly.
