This is an old southern recipe.

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 ¾ cups white sugar
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1 pinch ground nutmeg
½ cup butter
4 eggs
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch single crust pie

Steps:

  • Mix together the sugar, flour and spices. Stir in butter. Beat in eggs and add milk and vanilla. Mix well.
  • Pour into unbaked pie shell. Bake 10 to 15 minutes at 400 degrees F (205 degrees C), then reduce heat to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and bake 30 minutes more or until pie sets.

½ cup butter
2 cups packed brown sugar
4 egg yolks
2 teaspoons all-purpose flour
½ cup chopped pecans
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
½ teaspoon ground allspice
1 cup light cream
½ cup dates, pitted and chopped
½ cup raisins
1 (9 inch) pie shell

Steps:

  • Cream butter or margarine, and add sugar; cream until light and fluffy. Mix in egg yolks. Combine flour and spices, and add to creamed mixture. Blend in cream. Stir in nuts, raisins, and dates. Pour filling into unbaked pie shell.
  • Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 35 to 40 minutes, or until set. Cool.

This was a pie that was pasted down from my grandmother. Great for quick dessert for large family.

1 c sugar
2 Tbsp melted butter
1/2 can(s) milk
2 egg
2 Tbsp all purpose flour
1 Tbsp vanilla extract
2 Tbsp cinnamon, ground
1 9inch pie shell

Steps:

  • 1. Combine all ingredient in bowl. Beat well and pour in 9 inch pie shll.
  • 2. Cook at 350 for 45 minutes or until golden brown.
