1-1/2 pounds fresh green beans, trimmed
2 plum tomatoes, chopped
1 small red onion, thinly sliced
1 can (3.8 ounces) sliced ripe olives, drained
1/2 cup prepared Italian salad dressing
Dash each salt and pepper

Steps:

  • Place beans in a Dutch oven and cover with water. Bring to a boil. Cover and cook for 4-6 minutes or until crisp-tender; drain. Add the remaining ingredients and heat through.

Green beans simmered with garlic, onion and Italian-seasoned tomatoes are topped with mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses for a special side dish.

1 Tbsp. oil
1 medium onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 pkg. (16 oz.) frozen whole green beans
1 can (14-1/2 oz.) Italian-style diced tomatoes, drained
1/4 tsp. seasoned salt
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1 cup KRAFT Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
1/4 cup KRAFT Shredded Parmesan Cheese

Steps:

  • Heat oil in large nonstick skillet on medium-high heat. Add onion and garlic; cook and stir 2 to 3 minutes or until onion is crisp-tender.
  • Add beans, tomatoes and seasonings; mix lightly. Cover. Reduce heat to medium-low; simmer 15 minutes or until beans are tender and mixture is heated through.
  • Sprinkle with cheeses; cover. Cook an additional 2 minutes or until cheeses are melted.

Just wanted to spruce up these frozen beans.

16 oz green beans, frozen
1 c sweet onion, sliced
6 mushrooms, sliced
2 clove garlic, minced
4 slice bacon, chopped, opitional
1 tsp black pepper
1 can(s) diced tomatoes, no salt added/ basil, garlic & oregano
2 tsp mrs. dash, table blend

Steps:

  • 1. Place thawed green beans in pot with onion, spices and diced tomatoes.
  • 2. Simmer for about 20-30 till beans are tender. Add mushrooms last 5 min of cooking.
  • 3. Prepare bacon in your favorite manner. I like to place it on baking sheet and bake for 25-30 min on 375°.
  • 4. Crumble bacon and add to beans, top with grated Parmesan cheese.

1 14 oz. can whole peeled tomatoes, drained and chopped, but don't throw away the juice
1/4 c chopped onion
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp dired oregano
1/2 tsp dried basil
1/8 tsp pepper

Steps:

  • 1. Combine all the ingredients (plus about 3 tablespoons of reserved juice from tomatoes) in a pan and heat to boiling. Then reduce heat.
  • 2. Cover and simmer for 8-10 minutes, or until the beans are done to your liking.
