This is a quick, easy way to add sweetness to cold beverages.

- Bring sugar and water to a boil in a small pan. Reduce heat, and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring to dissolve the sugar. Let cool.

Steps:
- Bring water to boiling; remove from heat then add tea bags.
- Steep 15 minutes; discard tea bags (do not squeeze for the tea will become bitter).
- Add sugar and baking soda; stir to dissolve.
- Add to mixture the lemon juice.
- To serve: pour enough tea syrup to taste in tall iced tea glass filled with ice cubes. Fill remainder of glass with water. Enjoy!

- Heat water to boiling.
- For the simple syrup, pour 1 cup of the boiled water into a glass measuring cup, stir in sugar until it dissolves.
- Set aside.
- Pour remaining water into a tea pot or glass measuring cup with tea bags.
- Steep 5 minutes, then remove the bags.
- Stir syrup into the tea.
- Chill tea.

- Steep tea in boiled water for 15 minutes.
- Strain out loose tea, add liquid and sugar into a pot, boil for 10 minutes. Take off heat and cool.
- Add 1 Tbsp to a glass and fill with chilled water and ice; add garnish if desired.

- 1. Bring water to a rolling boil.
- 2. Add tea & remove from heat. Cover with lid & steep for 10 minutes (or until all the good is out of the tea)
- 3. Strain & add sugar while tea is still hot.
- 4. Cool, pour into glass jar with tight fitting lid. Store in refrigerator.
- 5. Note: This recipe can be doubled using 5 lbs of sugar.
