HOT TURKEY HORSESHOE SANDWICH

Number Of Ingredients 14

One 32-ounce bag frozen french fries
Garlic salt, for sprinkling
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 cup whole milk
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon sriracha
1 cup shredded English Cheddar
1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
1 pound good quality roasted turkey, sliced thin
4 slices Texas toast, buttered and griddled until golden
Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
Sliced pickled cherry peppers, for garnish

Steps:

  • Cook fries according to package instructions. Place in a large bowl, then sprinkle with garlic salt and set aside.
  • Meanwhile, melt butter in a medium pan over medium heat, then add flour and whisk until blonde. Whisk in milk, Worcestershire and sriracha and bring to a simmer, then cook until thickened, 3 to 5 minutes. Whisk in both cheeses until melted. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
  • Place a couple slices of turkey on the griddled Texas toast, then a pile of French fries; ladle the cheese sauce over the entire thing. Garnish with some parsley and some pickled peppers.

2 cups cooked turkey, diced
1 cup celery, diced
1/4 cup almonds, toasted, remove skins, chopped
3 teaspoons onions, minced
2 teaspoons fresh lemon rind, grated and chopped fine
1 tablespoon lemon juice, freshly squeezed
1/4-1/2 cup mayonnaise, to moisten
1 cup cheddar cheese, grated or 1 cup any cheese, of your choice
salt, to taste
black pepper, to taste
red pepper flakes
Old Bay Seasoning
minced garlic
cilantro, chopped fine
bell pepper, chopped
pimiento, chopped
pineapple, drained and chopped
apple, cored, skinned and chopped

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F.
  • In a medium mixing bowl combine turkey through lemon juice. Add mayonnaise to moisten, add cheese and toss lightly. Adjust the salt and black pepper - to taste. Add any options, adjusting to taste.
  • Place mixture in a lightly buttered casserole dish and cover.
  • Bake for 20- 25 minutes or until heated through. Serve hot over biscuits or rice.

1 (6 ounce) package chicken flavor stuffing mix or 1 (6 ounce) package turkey stuffing mix
3 tablespoons butter or 3 tablespoons margarine
water
6 slices bread, toasted
1 lb cooked turkey breast, sliced
1 1/2-2 cups turkey gravy (jarred or homemade) or 1 1/2-2 cups chicken gravy, heated (jarred or homemade)

Steps:

  • PREPARE stuffing mix as directed on package, using only 3 tablespoons butter or margarine. Set aside.
  • PLACE 1 toast slice on each of six individual plates. Top evenly with turkey, stuffing and gravy.
  • MICROWAVE to reheat, if desired. Microwave, one serving at a time, on HIGH 30 sec. or just until warmed.

1 lb deli turkey, sliced
5 slices swiss cheese
1/4 cup cranberry sauce

  • Spread the bottom half of the bread with ranch dressing.
  • Layer with turkey and cheese.
  • Place on a broiler pan and broil until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Spread cranberry sauce on top half of bread, close up your sandwich and slice.

.5 oz oil or butter substitute
2 Slices Sour Dough Bread
2 - 2.5 oz of Ranch Dressing
2 Slices of Tomato
2 -3 Slices of Cooked Bacon
2 oz Shredded Parmesan Cheese
2, 2 oz Slices of Oven Roasted Turkey Breast

Steps:

  • Preheat skillet or grill Lightly oil cooking surface if needed Spread cheese over the surface in an area about the size of bread slices Place the bread on the cheese. IMPORTANT: place the bread in a bottom to bottom or top to top or side to side configuration so when complete, one slice of bread may be folded over the other. Pour and spread ranch dressing on both slices of bread with bottom of spoon. Place turkey on grill Place bacon on grill Place tomato slices on grill After 30 - 40 seconds, use spatula to turn turkey, bacon and tomato slices over. After 15 additional seconds, place tomato on one slice of bread with spatula. Place bacon on the same slice of bread with spatula. Place turkey on the same slice of bread with spatula. Slide spatula under the empty slice of bread and fold it over on to the other slice of bread. Remove from grill. Cut in half and trim any dangling cheese on the edge of the bread. Serve with pickle spear and chips or salsa.

1/2 cup chicken broth
1/4 cup olive oil
4-1/2 teaspoons finely chopped onion
1 tablespoon white wine vinegar
2 teaspoons dried parsley flakes
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon rubbed sage

6 turkey breast cutlets (about 1 pound)

  • In a large resealable plastic bag, combine the first eight ingredients; add turkey. Seal bag and turn to coat; refrigerate for 12 hours or overnight, turning occasionally., Drain and discard marinade. Using long-handled tongs, moisten a paper towel with cooking oil and lightly coat the grill rack., Grill turkey, covered, over indirect medium heat or broil 6 in. from the heat for 3-4 minutes on each side or until juices run clear.   • 1. Take your turkey and gravy...mix together in a small saucepan. Heat through,till good and hot throughout.

1 1/2 cups low-fat (1 percent) milk
1/2 cup (2 ounces) shredded reduced-fat sharp cheddar cheese
1 tablespoon dry sherry
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground red pepper
1/8 teaspoon onion powder
1 (2-ounce) jar diced pimento, drained
6 (2-ounce) slices Texas toast, lightly toasted
12 ounces thinly sliced cooked turkey breast
12 (1/4-inch-thick) slices tomato (about 2 tomatoes)
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
2 bacon slices, cooked and crumbled
1/4 teaspoon paprika

Steps:

  • To make sauce: melt margarine in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir in flour; gradually add milk, stirring with a whisk until blended. Cook until thick (about 10 minutes), stirring constantly. Remove from heat; add cheese, stirring until cheese melts. Stir in sherry and remaining ingredients. Yield: 2 cups
  • To make sandwiches: preheat broiler. Arrange toast in a 13 by 9-inch flameproof baking pan or baking dish. Top each toast slice with 2 ounces turkey and 2 tomato slices; sprinkle with pepper. 4 slice(s) cooked bacon
1 tablespoon(s) chopped parsley
1/2 cup(s) romano cheese, grated (plus more for garnish)
2 ounce(s) butter
2 ounce(s) flour
2 cup(s) heavy cream
4 slice(s) leftover turkey (more or less as desired)
1 - tomato, sliced
2 slice(s) sourdough bread
- salt
- white pepper

Steps:

  • Make a mornay sauce by cooking the butter and flour in a saucepot for 2-3 minutes, or until you notice a nutty aroma. Slowly add the heavy cream, whisking constantly to avoid lumps. When it bubbles,whisk in the cheese. Add white pepper and salt to taste. Remove from heat and set aside.
  • Layer bread slices with desired amount of leftover turkey and tomato slices. Toast for 4 minutes in a toaster oven.
  • Top with the mornay sauce and some extra grated cheese. Broil open-faced sandwiches until browned in a toaster oven or broiler. Top each sandwich with two slices of bacon and minced parsley.
