1/2 lb ground chuck
1 onion, diced small
14 1/2 ounces peeled diced tomatoes (canned)
1 garlic clove (peeled, chopped)
1/2 cup fresh parsley
1/4 teaspoon sweet basil
salt
pepper
29 ounces tomato sauce (canned)
1/4 cup sugar
1/8 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

Steps:

  • Brown Ground Chuck, drain.
  • Add onions and cook until onions are transparent.
  • Add tomatoes (juice and all), garlic, fresh parsley, basil, salt and pepper.
  • Simmer until most of the juice is gone.
  • Add tomato sauce and sugar. (may have to adjust sugar amount to taste).
  • Simmer an hour or until the consistency you like.
  • Serve over spaghetti noodles, or we prefer angel hair pasta.

14 ounces plum tomatoes (1 tin)
1 tablespoon gravy, granules (any flavour)
1 medium onion, chopped
2 teaspoons basil
1 teaspoon black pepper
2 teaspoons sugar (or 3 if you prefer)
2 garlic cloves, chopped

Steps:

  • Add the plum tomatoes to a saucepan (chop ends off if necessary) and heat gently for a few minutes.
  • Next add the onion and garlic and stir. Leave for a few minutes.
  • Now add the gravy granules and again leave for a few minutes.
  • Now add the basil, sugar and black pepper. Stir again and leave few a few minutes more.

1 tablespoon butter
1 1/2 lbs of extra-mince ground beef
1 onion
1 cup of slices carrot
4 sliced mushrooms
1/2 a pepper (color of your choice)
540 ml of diced tomatoes with herbs
1 cup tomato juice
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can condensed tomato soup
1 tablespoon basil
1 (700 ml) tomato and basil pasta sauce
1 tablespoon thyme
1 tablespoon oregano
2 tablespoons mixed Italian herbs
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon onion powder
2 garlic cloves

Steps:

  • Chop the mushrooms, oinion, carrots, garlic and pepper.
  • Brown oinion with the carrots in a large pot in butter.
  • Add ground beef.
  • Cook until ground beef is ready.
  • Add diced tomatoes, tomato juice, tomato soup, pasta sauce and brown sugar.
  • Add vegetables. and chopped garlic cloves.
  • Add half of basil, thyme, oregano and italian spices.
  • Let it cook at low heat for 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Add the rest of the spices.
  • Tast and add oinion powder if too acid. If not tasty enough add italian spices.
  • Let it cook for 20 to 30 minutes at low heat.

2 tablespoons vegetable oil
½ onion, minced
½ green bell pepper, chopped
1 pound ground beef
4 slices bacon
2 (4 ounce) jars mushrooms, drained
1 (29 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
2 tablespoons garlic powder
2 tablespoons dried oregano
½ cup white wine
¾ cup sugar
salt and pepper to taste

Steps:

  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook onion and bell pepper in oil until transparent. Add beef to onions and peppers; cook until brown. Set aside.
  • Place bacon in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium-high heat until evenly brown. Reserve drippings and crumble bacon. Combine drippings and crumbled bacon with the beef mixture.
