SLOW COOKER HAWAIIAN PORK CHOPS

These Asian-inspired Hawaiian pork chops are with pineapple and steeped in a slightly sweet and boldly savory glaze you'll love!

½ cup cold water
3 Tbsp. corn starch (preferably GMO-free)
¼ cup reduced-sodium soy sauce
1 Tbsp. raw honey
2 Tbsp. all-natural ketchup, no sugar added
2 8-oz. cans pineapple slices in juice, reserve liquid (divided use)
3 Tbsp. rice vinegar
2 cloves garlic (finely chopped)
nonstick cooking spray
1 lb. raw lean, center-cut pork chops
2 cups cooked brown rice
1 Tbsp + 1 tsp. finely chopped fresh cilantro

Steps:

  • Combine water and cornstarch in a small bowl; whisk to blend. Set aside.
  • Combine soy sauce, honey, ketchup, pineapple juice, vinegar, and garlic in a medium bowl; whisk to blend.
  • Add cornstarch mixture to soy sauce mixture; whisk to blend. Set aside.
  • Lightly coat inside of a 3-quart slow cooker with spray.
  • Add half of soy sauce mixture, pork chops, pineapple, and remaining soy sauce mixture; cover. Cook on high for 3 to 3½ hours (or low for 5 to 6 hours), or until pork chops are tender and cooked through.
  • Serve each pork chop with ½ cup rice. Evenly divide sauce and pineapple between pork chops. Sprinkle each with 1 tsp. cilantro.

4 boneless pork loin chops (3/4 inch thick and 4 ounces each)
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
3 teaspoons canola oil, divided
1/3 cup chopped green pepper
1/3 cup thinly sliced onion
1 can (14-1/2 ounces) reduced-sodium beef broth
1 can (8 ounces) unsweetened pineapple chunks, undrained
1/4 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon cider vinegar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
3 tablespoons cold water
Hot cooked rice, optional

Steps:

  • Sprinkle pork chops with salt and pepper. Heat 2 teaspoons oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Cook pork chops until lightly browned, 3-4 minutes on each side. Remove and keep warm. , In the same skillet, saute green pepper and onion in remaining 1 teaspoon oil until almost tender, about 2 minutes. Stir in broth, pineapple, ketchup, brown sugar and vinegar. Bring to a boil. Return pork to the pan. Reduce heat; cover and simmer until a thermometer inserted in pork reads 145°, 5-7 minutes. Remove and keep warm., Combine cornstarch and water until smooth; stir into skillet. Bring to a boil; cook and stir until thickened, 1-2 minutes. Serve with pork and, if desired, rice.

I found this recipe at Obesity Help. The recipe was posted by marylyn. Weight Watcher points 7. When I made these pork chops I used 6 boneless pork chops. I used a 20oz can of pineapple slices which I had 3 slices leftover and I cut the remaining 3 slices up. I also doubled the sauce and used Splenda brown sugar.

4 (1/2 inch) pork chops
8 ounces pineapple slices, drained, reserve juice
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Steps:

  • Place pork chops on baking dish that is lightly sprayed with cooking spray.
  • Mix 2 tablespoons of the reserved pineapple juice with brown sugar and nutmeg. Spoon half of the mixture over the pork chops. Top with pineapple slices and spoon remaining mixture over the pineapple.
  • Cover and bake 30 minutes at 350°F Uncover and bake 20 minutes longer, sauce over chops occasionally.

¼ cup all-purpose flour
salt and ground black pepper to taste
4 pork chops
½ cup shortening (such as Crisco®)
¾ cup water
½ (12 fluid ounce) can frozen pineapple juice concentrate
1 teaspoon white sugar
1 teaspoon lemon juice
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 (8 ounce) can pineapple rings
1 tablespoon water
1 tablespoon cornstarch

Steps:

  • Mix flour, salt, and pepper together in a shallow bowl. Press pork chops into flour mixture until coated on both sides; shake excess flour back into bowl.
  • Heat shortening in a large skillet over medium heat; cook pork chops until browned, about 3 minutes per side. Drain excess fat from skillet and return pork chops to skillet.
  • Mix 3/4 cup water, pineapple juice, sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg in skillet with pork chops. Cover skillet and simmer until cooked through and sauce is somewhat reduced, about 30 minutes. Add pineapple rings and cook 5 minutes more.

4 pork chops
1/2 teaspoon celery salt
pepper
1 onion (chopped or sliced)
3/4 cup crushed pineapple (undrained)
1 teaspoon soy sauce

Steps:

  • Season chops on both sides with celery salt and pepper.
  • Place the chopped onion in roasting/oven bag and lay this flat in a shallow baking dish.
  • Place chops in a single layer on top of the onions.
  • Mix soy sauce into the pineapple and spoon onto chops so that the juice runs under the chops, and the crushed pineapple remains on top.
  • Close bag loosely with the tie provided leaving a finger sized hole for steam to escape.
  • Bake at 350 degrees Fahrneheit (180 degrees Celsius, for 45 minutes.
  • Slit bag and turn back so that chops are exposed.
  • Raise heat to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius)and continue baking uncovered for approximately 15 minutes or until the fat at the edge of chops is golden brown.
  • Remove from oven and serve.
