Steps:
- Heat oven to 350*.
- Stir together first 5 ingredients.
- Add flour, sugar, soda and salt.
- Stir until mixed well.
- Pour into greased and floured 9x13 baking pan.
- Bake for 40 minutes.
- Frosting: Beat all ingredients until smooth and creamy.
- Frost completely cooled cake.

HARD TIMES CAKE
This is a quick and easy cake to make when in a pinch. I got it from the Divide School Cookbook.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Mix all ingredients except jelly together.
- Pour into 2 greased round cake pans.
- Bake 35-50 minutes or until top of cake springs back when pushed lightly with your fingertips.
- Let cool a few minutes; spread jelly on top of each layer while still warm.
