An irresistible combination of green beans, tomatoes, olive oil, and garlic that partners well with almost any entree. For a more colorful dish try a blend of green beans and wax beans.

Steps:
- Stir green beans, olive oil, garlic, sugar, and salt in a large skillet. Place a cover on the skillet and cook over low heat until green beans are slightly tender, about 15 minutes.
- Pour beef broth over the green bean mixture; continue cooking uncovered about 5 minutes more.
- Increase heat to medium-high. Stir tomatoes and parsley through the green bean mixture; continue cooking until beans are cooked through and tender, about 5 minutes more.

Steps:
- Place the green beans in a saucepan with a lid and pour enough water over the beans to cover; bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low and cover; simmer until the beans are tender but still crisp, about 10 minutes. Drain. Spread the beans onto paper towels to dry.
- Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium-low heat; stir the bread crumbs and Parmesan cheese into the melted butter. Reduce heat to low; add the beans and cook and stir until the beans are heated through and the crumbs are beginning to brown, about 3 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Sprinkle the parsley over the mixture to serve.

Steps:
- Heat oil and garlic in a large skillet until garlic is fragrant, about 30 seconds.
- Add chopped onion, red pepper (optional), basil, and oregano, and cook until onion is tender, 2-3 minutes.
- Drain tomatoes from warm water and chop into strips.
- Add sun dried tomatoes, green beans, and dry sherry to pan and cook 2 minutes, stirring to blend.
- Pour in tomato sauce, then add balsamic vinegar and 1/4 cup water; stir to mix.
- Bring mixture to a boil, then reduce heat, cover and simmer for 35-45 minutes, or until beans are cooked to your preference, adding a tbsp water if it gets too thick.
- Serve topped with a sprinkling of parmesan cheese (optional), and additional red pepper flakes (optional), if desired.
