A tofu smoothie might sound a little strange, but adding silken tofu is the best way to make smoothies creamy and extra delicious. Bonus that the protein boost will keep you full until lunch!

2 cups frozen fruit (we love using raspberries and mangoes)
1 fresh banana (see notes)
8 ounces silken tofu
¼ cup water

Steps:

  • Place the ingredients into your blender and blend on high until smooth.
  • If you'd like a thinner smoothie, add a little extra water.

6 ounces fruit, such as raspberries, blueberries, or mango
4 ounces silken tofu
2 tablespoons honey, or more to taste
1 cup ice

Steps:

  • Place all ingredients in a blender. Blend on high speed until the texture is creamy and ice has been finely ground. Serve immediately.

1 cup frozen strawberries (don't defrost, if using fresh berries, freeze them first)
1 cup ice
1 cup ice water
1/2 cup heavy cream (to lighten up, substitute water)
1/4 cup sugar substitute (recommended: Splenda)
3 1/2 ounces soft or silken tofu
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (there should be no sugar in the ingredient list--usually artificial types are best)
4 fresh strawberries
4 sprigs fresh mint

Steps:

  • Make the Smoothie: Combine all the ingredients in a blender and pulse to chop everything up. Flip the switch to high and blend until smooth.
  • Pour the smoothie among 4 glasses, and garnish each with a strawberry and mint sprig.

This is a great smoothie consisting of fruit, fruit juice and ice. I like to use whatever fresh fruits I crave that day. Any kind of berry, mangos, papayas, kiwi fruit, et cetera make a great smoothie. Experiment with your favorites!

1 banana, broken into chunks
2 peaches
1 cup orange-peach-mango juice
2 cups ice
