You can't beat fresh strawberries served with a wonderful brandy cream sauce.

1 pound strawberries (or 2 pints)
1 cup heavy cream
2 tablespoons powdered sugar
4 tablespoons brandy

Steps:

  • Wash strawberries, and cut the tops off. Let strawberries drain.
  • Mix together heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and the brandy. Beat with a mixer until this becomes thick.
  • Place strawberries into glasses and spoon over the sauce.
  • Makes 3 to 4 servings.

1 pinch ripe sweet strawberries,crushed
3 Tbsp butter
2 Tbsp granulated sugar
1 dash(es) cinnamon
2 whole cloves spice
1 large orange
1 tsp arrowroot starch (cornstarch)
1 oz grand mariner
1 oz bacardi rum
1/4 c maraschino cherry juice
vanilla ice cream

Steps:

  • 1. Melt butter in a chafing dish. Add spices and sugar and mix. Add cherry juice and grated rind of orange to sauce.Simmer a few minutes. Add arrowroot and blend well. Add strawberries. Let simmer for 3 to 5 minutes until starch is cooked and sauce is thickened. Add liquor and ignite, letting it burn until all flames are gone. Ladle over ice cream.

3 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon brandy
½ cup heavy cream
3 tablespoons white sugar
4 cups fresh strawberries

Steps:

  • Combine sour cream, brown sugar, and brandy in a bowl and mix to combine.
  • Beat cream in a chilled glass or metal bowl using an electric mixer until frothy. Add white sugar gradually, continuing to beat until whipped cream is thick. Fold whipped cream into sour cream mixture and blend well. Serve with fresh strawberries.

2 pints strawberries, washed and stemmed
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup orange liqueur, such as Grand Marnier or Cointreau
1 pint vanilla ice cream
1 cup heavy cream

Steps:

  • Slice the strawberries. In a large bowl, toss 3/4 of them with the sugar and orange liqueur. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour to macerate.
  • Put the ice cream in the refrigerator to soften.
  • Put the cream and half of the macerated strawberries in a cold mixing bowl. With an electric mixer, whip to soft peak, about 2 minutes. Fold in the softened ice cream.
  • Distribute the cream among 6 chilled bowls. Mix the plain sliced berries with the remaining macerated berries and place on top of the cream.

2 (10 ounce) packages sliced strawberries or 2 (10 ounce) packages raspberries, thawed
2 teaspoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1/4 cup slivered almonds, toasted
2 tablespoons orange liqueur
chocolate ice cream

Steps:

  • Drain berries, reserving syrup.
  • Stir reserved syrup in cornstarch in a wok or other wide deep pan.
  • Stir in lemon juice.
  • Bring to boil and cook for 2 minutes.
  • Stir in berries and almonds.
  • Heat 1 minute longer.
  • Heat liqueur in a small saucepan or large ladle until just warm.
  • Ignite with a long match and pour over berry mixture.

This is another recipe I found while looking for good Valentines Day cooking ideas...since my honey doesnt like chocolate, I usually make him something with strawberries(his fav) for special occasions.

2 cups strawberries (I keep frozen ones on hand for occasions such as this)
1 teaspoon butter
1 cup sugar
1 lemon, zest of (the outermost layer of the lemon rind, which is used for flavoring)
1 orange, zest of
4 scoops vanilla ice cream
1 orange, juice of
2 tablespoons brandy

Steps:

  • Slice each strawberry in half. (if using frozen be sure to let thaw completely).
  • Heat a large saucepan, and sauté the strawberries in butter lightly in one side of the pan.
  • In the other side, melt sugar.
  • When sugar almost melts, add the orange juice and zests.
  • Carefully add brandy and watch out for the flame!
  • Serve hot over ice cream.
