These delicious, subtly spiced cookies are wonderful with a cup of tea. They have great flavor, amazing texture and best of all they are topped with a little bit of heaven (walnuts).

250 ml unsalted butter, softened
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
2 egg yolks
1 tsp baking powder
2 1/4 cup flour, all purpose
1 tsp cinnamon, ground
egg white (garnish)
1/3 cup walnut, coarsely chopped

Steps:

  • 1. In a large bowl cream the powdered sugar and butter together, then add the 2 egg yolks, mix well.
  • 2. Next slowly add the flour, baking powder and cinnamon, and stir together.
  • 3. Shape dough into walnut sized balls using your hands.
  • 4. Now, dip (one side, only) in the egg white and then into the walnut pieces. Do the same with the rest of the dough.
  • 5. Place a layer of parchment paper on your cookie sheet and place the cookies on it.
  • 6. Preheat the oven to 375 F and bake for 25 minutes or until the tops look a light pink color.

1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 egg
1 tablespoon water
1 package (8 oz) chopped dates
3/4 cup chopped walnuts
Powdered sugar, if desired

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 375°F. In large bowl, stir all ingredients until stiff dough forms.
  • Drop dough by teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Bake 10 to 11 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool 1 minute; remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.

1/2 cup butter
1 cup flour
1 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup of chopped walnuts
powdered sugar

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees (F).
  • Mix together the granulated sugar, flour, and butter until well combined.
  • Add in the chopped walnuts, and mix in evenly.
  • Once it becomes a nice doughy mixture, divide it into 12 sections, and form them into medium thick circles.They will flatten out as they bake.
  • Lather each one with powdered sugar before sticking them on a baking pan.
  • Bake for about 10 minutes, or about when the edges of the cookies turn golden brown.

Easy dark chocolate walnut cookies recipe is a decadent, delicious and suitable way to satisfy chocolate lovers and not only.

Number Of Ingredients 9

1½ cups dark chocolate chopped (290 g) + 1 tablespoon
¼ cup unsalted butter (50 g)
3 large eggs(150 g)
¾ cups sugar (150 g)
2½ cups walnuts (250 g) grounded
⅔ cup semi sweet chocolate chips (120 g)
2 tablespoons (20 g)all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder (2 g)
NOTE: If you want a completely different texture and taste, you can replace the walnuts with ground almonds or peanuts.

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 180C/350F.
  • Melt the chopped dark chocolate with butter on a double boiler. Mix well both ingredients to combine. Set aside to cool.
  • Beat the eggs with the sugar until they double their volume.
  • In a medium bowl, combine the ground walnuts, chocolate chips, flour and baking powder.
  • Add the mixture to the eggs alternating with the melted chocolate.
  • The mixture has to look uniform in color and texture.
  • Grab an ice cream scoop, or a tablespoon and form cookies, then place them on a cookie baking tray that was covered with parchment paper.
  • Bake them at 350F/180C for 12-15 minutes maximum, just enough for the cookies to get a golden brown edge. The center will be still soft.
  • Remove the tray from the oven and let the cookies sit on the tray for few minutes until they cool down. Place them on a cooling rack to cool down completely.
  • They should be kept in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
