1-1/3 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup crisp rice cereal, coarsely crushed
2 tablespoons plus 1/2 cup sugar, divided
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup butter-flavored shortening
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 cup butter, melted

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 425°. In a large bowl, combine the flour, cereal, 2 tablespoons sugar, baking powder and salt; cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in milk just until moistened. Shape into 1-in. balls., In a shallow bowl, combine remaining sugar and cinnamon. Dip balls in butter, then roll in cinnamon-sugar., Arrange in a single layer in an 8-in. cast-iron skillet or round baking pan. Bake until browned and a toothpick inserted in centers comes out clean, 15-18 minutes.

2 (8 ounce) packages refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon
frosting
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/4 cup water (I use less)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375°F
  • Grease an 8 inch round baking pan.
  • In a small bowl, combine softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Unroll crescent rolls, press the triangles together to form squares. Spread 1 tablespoon full of butter mixture onto square, roll and press to seal. Cut in half and place in baking pan. Repeat with remaining squares. Bake for 10 minutes, until lightly browned.
  • Slowly mix powdered sugar and water together to create frosting. Drizzle over hot rolls before serving.
