ITALIAN LEMONADE



Italian Lemonade image

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 cups lemon juice, about 12 to 15 lemons
2 cups Basil Simple Syrup, recipe follows
2 cups cold or sparkling water
Ice
Lemon twists, for garnish
1 bunch fresh basil, washed and stemmed
2 cups sugar
1 cup water

Steps:

  • Mix lemon juice, Basil Simple Syrup, and water together in a pitcher. Store in the refrigerator until ready to serve. Pour over ice filled glasses and garnish with a lemon twist.
  • In a saucepan combine basil, sugar, and water and simmer until the sugar is dissolved, 5 minutes. Cool, strain the simple syrup, and store in the refrigerator.

8 cups cold water, divided
1 cup white sugar
1 ½ cups lemon juice
½ cucumber, thinly sliced
10 fresh basil leaves, torn

Steps:

  • Combine 1 cup water and sugar together in a small saucepan; bring to a boil. Cook and stir until sugar is dissolved, about 5 minutes. Remove saucepan from heat and cool syrup to room temperature.
  • Stir syrup, remaining water, lemon juice, cucumber, and basil together in a pitcher; chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.

I tweaked this recipe it to make a refreshing drink. I love basil and this recipe has a wonderful basil-infused flavor. Delicious on a warm day or with grilled chicken. Serve over ice and garnish with fresh basil and lemon slices.

1 (12 ounce) can frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed
⅓ cup white sugar
¼ cup fresh lime juice
½ cup firmly packed torn basil leaves

Steps:

  • Stir water, lemonade, sugar, and lime juice together in a pitcher. Add 1/2 cup basil leaves, stir to combine, cover the pitcher, and refrigerate until flavors combine, 8 hours to overnight. Remove basil leaves and discard.

DRY Sparkling Cucumber Basil Lemonade image

1 head Cucumber, chopped
3 pieces Basil leaves
2 ounces Fresh-squeezed lemon juice
2 ounces Still water
2 ounces Simple syrup
5 ounces DRY Cucumber Botanical Bubbly
2 pieces Cucumber ribbons

Steps:

  • In a blender, blend together the cucumber, basil, lemon juice, water and simple syrup until smooth.
  • Using a vegetable peeler, peel two ribbons off a cucumber and skewer.
  • Fill two glasses with ice and divide the mixture between the two.
  • Top with DRY Cucumber Botanical Bubbly.
