DARK CHERRY COLA SALAD WITH CREAM CHEESE AND PECANS



Dark Cherry Cola Salad with Cream Cheese and Pecans image

I have been making this since I was in highschool! It is a wonderful jello salad that family and friends request often! A lovely addition to any holiday table!

Number Of Ingredients 7

2 (3 oz.) box dark cherry jello (black cherry)
1 cup hot water
16 oz. cola
3/4 tsp. lemon juice
4 oz. cream cheese, very cold, cut into tiny cubes
1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
1 (8 3/4 oz.) can dark sweet cherries, drained, cut in half (*save juice for another use such as adding it to your glass of iced tea)

Steps:

  • 1. Dissolve jello in hot water. Cool. Add cola and refrigerate til gelatin is slightly thickened. Stir in cherries, nuts and cream cheese. Pour into jello mold and chill til completely set.

14 1/2 ounces dark sweet cherries
8 ounces crushed pineapple
3 ounces cherry Jell-O
3 ounces strawberry Jell-O gelatin dessert
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 cup nuts, chopped
2 cups cola, carbonated drink
1/2 cup celery, minced

Steps:

  • Drain juice from cherries and pineapple into pan.
  • Heat juices.and add gelatin.
  • Stir till thoroughly dissolved.
  • Cool.
  • Blend cream cheese, and beat into the cooled gelatin.
  • Add fruit and chopped nuts.
  • Stir in cola flavored carbonated drink.
  • Chill overnight before serving.

1 small pkg. dark cherry jello
1 can dark sweet cherries (which are sure to be
overpriced so shop around ahead of time)
dry sherry
Optional: chopped pecans or walnuts

Steps:

  • Drain cherries, SAVE JUICE. Pour 1 c. boiling water over jello and stir to dissolve. Add 1 cup liquid made from saved juice, sherry and bit of water. Add cherries and nuts if using. Stir once as it sets to keep all distributed evenly. Put in oiled mold/s. Serve on lettuce leaves with outrageous topping listed under salad dressings.
