DAD'S BEST MARINADE

Dad's Best Marinade image

My dad has been making this for as long as I remember. He usually marinated a chuck roast or flank steak. We love it and I have used it on pork and chicken too. We like to marinate the cubed meat for kebabs and throw on some pineapple. I have also used pineapple juice in place of the water in this recipe and chopped fresh ginger is a good addition. We usually grill our meat for this recipe. I hope you enjoy! This works great on venision too!

This is a family recipe that has been developed only over the last 5 years. In this short time it's made me famous in our close circle, but until now I've never shared it with anyone.

DAD'S BEEF JERKY MARINADE

Dad's Beef Jerky Marinade image

The recipe as written should be multiplied based on your total meat. I usually make enough marinade based on the pre-trimmed weight of the meat. Preparation time only includes the assembly of the marinade. The trimming of the meat, packaging and drying time will vary based on the cut of meat, amount to be marinaded and the drying method used.

DAD'S SIMPLE STEAK MARINADE

Dad's Simple Steak Marinade image

This recipe is one my father taught me. It is the simplest homemade marinade! Just 5 common ingredients! When used overnight, the soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic make flank, skirt and sirloin steaks flavorful and, most importantly, tender for the grill! For more flavor, add Kosher salt and cracked black pepper to your steak while it cooks. Red wine vinegar or balsamic vinegar may be substituted for the red wine.

My dad always marinated steak in this marinade and was always a favorite of the family. I lost track of it and while I was digging through some old recipes I came across it. It's from Lawry's. It's also great to marinade pork chops.
